UH announces architects for the new football stadium
Here

DLR Group and PageSoutherlandPage

DLR has the stadium experience. They've worked on the Florida and Nebraska renovations, designed the new Alex Box baseball stadium for LSU, etc.

PageSoutherlandPage has a long history with UH, and will likely be designing the interiors (clubs, suites, etc.)

Excellent! Can't wait to see some new stadium renderings. Or better yet, demo and construction.

SMU's stadium opened in 2000, but it looks new. And most people say it's the nicest in C-USA.

North Texas also opened a new stadium last year.

The stadium "arms race" is alive and well in Texas.

To add to the list. I believe Rice is planning a new end zone facility/addition for their stadium.

CUSA should have grabbed Texas State. Georgeous campus, lots of tradition, nice facilities, sitting right between Austin and San Antonio (actually part of the Austin DMA). Enrollment topped 34,000 students in fall of 2011....lots of potential.

Couldn't agree more. CUSA or MWC should have picked up TXST.

Houston has similar plans for Hofheinz Pavilion. Both the new football stadium and renovated basketball arena are scheduled to be ready in the fall of 2014.
