Remember When Halliburton was a Dirty Word?
Remember When Halliburton was a Dirty Word? Obama Admin Gives No-Bid Contract to Halliburton

http://lonelyconservative.com/2010/05/re...lliburton/

Quote:The One is in office. Mr. HopeandChange. So, what has Captain Kool Aid done about Halliburton? Why, he’s given them a no-bid contract, of course.

Bloomberg Businessweek: KBR Inc. [aka Halliburton] was selected for a no-bid contract worth as much as $568 million through 2011 for military support services in Iraq, the Army said. The Army announced its decision yesterday only hours after the Justice Department said it will pursue a lawsuit accusing the Houston-based company of taking kickbacks from two subcontractors on Iraq-related work. The Army also awarded the work to KBR over objections from members of Congress, who have pushed the Pentagon to seek bids for further logistics contracts.

Is Dick Cheney secretly still in government? Or, is Halliburton one of the few contractors who can get the job done?

No it isn't. I really wish that comany would just go out of business so more Americans don't get hurt by Haliburtons incompetence.

Mach used to have kittens on here once a week over Halliburton. Not surprisingly he doesn't care now since Obama is the one giving them no bid contracts not Bush.

In slight defense of Mach, this was posted today and he might've not seen it yet to respond.

Fair point.

But mach was convinced Halliburton was engaging in war profiteering. So his options are to hold to that belief and attack the Obama admin for letting them continue it, or he can admit he was wrong in the first place.

It's amazing the level of outrage that has stopped coming from the left about indefinite detention, Gitmo, Halliburton, killing terrorists etc. since Obama took office.

Not really amazing. Their hypocrisy has been well-documented, so it doesn't surprise me.

A big error in the story. The contract was awarded to Kellogg- Brown & Root, not Halliburton. KBR was spun off from Halliburton with separate Board of Directors and Management a few years ago.

Brown & Root built Rice Stadium in under a year.

It's lasted 53 years so far, survived floods, hurricanes, tornados.
