OT: NCHC Tournament
The NCHC announced its tournament setup and locations yesterday. They're taking a very similar format to the CCHA Tournament. The quarterfinals are going to be played at campus sites and then the semifinals, third-place game and championship will be at the Target Center.

Up next will be deciding on a logo and then creating a trophy.

One mistake in your reporting.

The B1G tournament will not be played at the Target Center, but alternate between the XCel Energy Center in St. Paul and Joe Louis Arena.

The Big 10 and NCHC are two different conferences.

RE: OT: NCHC Tournament
I'm fully aware of that. I was responding because if you followed his link to his story on the MACdaily, he wrote this;

Quote:The NCHC chose the Target Center after also comparing the option to play the final rounds at campus sites, the Pepsi Center in Denver and Xcel Energy Arena in St. Paul. The newly formed Big Ten hockey league will also play its championship at the Target Center in 2014 and 2016.

This is factually incorrect. Only the NCHC will play at the Target Center. The B1G will alternate between St. Paul's XCel Energy Arena and Detroit's Joe Louis Arena. Not a big deal but if you are a reporter, you need to be accurate. I appreciate his efforts to report on the MAC and MAC teams and perhaps he was just in a hurry to get it written up and/or simply had a brain fart.

From the article in CollegeHockeyNews.com;

Quote:The NCHC chose Target Center, home of the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves, after exploring campus sites, Denver's Pepsi Center and the Xcel Energy Center in neighboring St. Paul. The latter will host the Big Ten tournament in alternate years.
