Scout.com has Short rated just two stars and not ranked nationally yet they have him rated as the highest RB in Kansas??? There must not be a lot of talent at RB in Kansas.

I heard Chad Beebe's a very good player......a lot like Eric Page; short and small and not the fastest in the world but quick on the field with all the intangibles.

To you and others here there will be that assumption. However, to everyone outside of the MAC they won't think of it that way. They'll just say they really improved a lot this year.

That and they'll mock the ever loving hell out of the Big East.

Temple was never a real member of the MAC to begin with. They used the MAC and the MAC presidents let it happen.

No way I could ever root for Temple. I hope they go 0-12.

CMU picked up commit #13, DE Chris Kantzavelos. Rivals has him with offers from WMU, EMU, Toledo, Miami, WKU and some other FCS schools.

CMU seems to get early committs and hangs on to them for the most part. Not sure how they are able to do that so consistently.

Toledo received a commitment from Cincinnati, Ohio DE/LB Victor Cave. Cave also had offers from Buffalo and Kent State. He's the 7th commitment in Toledo's class.

They've lost some in the past, but overall they've done a good job of finding diamonds in the rough that were not highly recruited by BCS schools.

I'm not sure which losses you are referring to, I can only think of one decommit in the recent past that followed our ex-coach to Cinci. He is a Chippewa now though. I think commits/decommits are more of a reflection on the staff and not so much the school.

Oh, and we just picked up #14 according to Scout, Desmond King. A Rivals 3* DB with offers from Wisc., WMU, EMU and other MAC programs. Surprisingly not Toledo as you guys always have a presence in Detroit.

Akron got their second commitment today. QB Ed Stockett from western Pennsylvania. Had offers from EMU and Rutgers and is a Rivals 3-star athlete.

That QB is one I was thinking of and yes I was aware that he is now at CMU. I was thinking there was someone else though as well......someone on the defensive side of the ball a few years ago. Anyway, my point was that CMU has done a good job of getting diamonds in the rough......ala Brown and LeFevour.

Don't be surprised if King decommits. I hear his is close to a couple of Big Ten offers and despite being committed he plans to take official visits to Wisconsin and Illinois this fall before making a final decision. Of course I also heard he might never get those two other Big Ten offers because the main delay has been a hesitation because of his transcripts.

Toledo has done a good job of recruiting the state of Michigan the last two years, but before that there was a few years that Toledo couldn't make in-roads in the state of Michigan at all.

RE: 2013 Football Recruiting
Toledo received a commitment from three star OL Nate Jeppesen (Portage, MI) today. Jeppesen is ranked the #42 prospect in the country at his position and ranked as the #26 prospect in the state of Michigan regardless of position. Jeppesen picked Toledo over offers from Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, FIU and Western Michigan.

He's the 8th commitment in Toledo's 2013 recruiting class and the 3rd three star commitment.

Jeppesen is a good get. I honestly thought he was favoring WMU if he didn't get a Michigan State offer.

I've got a feeling he will eventually get a MSU offer and end up there in the end. It would be a really good get though if he sticks with Toledo.
