C-USA moves tournament from Memphis

If CUSA is like most conferences they did not get a vote, nor UNT, FIU, and all the rest. This is being voted by current members for the upcoming season.

I know if our tournament were being held say at NTU in 2013 I would want it out of there. Why would I want to support a leaving school?

I'm sure you're right. Those new schools aren't members yet....so they have no vote.

isn't what cusa is doing similar to what the sun belt was required to do when latech left?

usualy new members have voice without vote, am I right?

I seem to remember something along those lines.

We moved it from Louisville to Memphis for a lower bid when Louisville left. I fully support it not being in Memphis.

Memphis will be going to the Big East. The tournament should be moved.

Moving it to Tulsa I understand. Moving it to El Paso I don't get.

Has anyone actually left its conference tourney after the host has bailed on a conference? I can't imagine that's a common occurrence.

A segement of La.Tech fans thought the Sun Belt and commissioner were petty and vindictive when the women's basketball tournament was moved from Ruston despite the league bylaws clearly stating departing schools can host league championship events.

Us old-timers find it amusing that an incident cited as proving the Sun Belt was a small-time is being employed by CUSA... AGAIN.

I certainly think it was the right move. Hell when we left the CAA they didn't even allow us to compete in any conference tournaments after we announced our departure. That's the treatment I wish we could give the defectors, but then again I am petty and vindictive and have no problem admitting as much.

with the team Memphis is going to have, you could stick it on the moon and we'd win it.

i think we've won 6 of the last 7 (only loss was the year Cal left) so i doubt it would matter.

I think it appears to be a battle between ECU and USM fans to see who's going to fill that void now.

I thought the CAA went too far. Not the fault of the kids, they shouldn't be denied a chance to compete for post-season auto-qualification, but that doesn't mean they should get home court/field.
