They will be gone within 5 years and probably within 3 years..Think about it he wants the team close to where he lives..-no brainer..And he will not have to fork out all the penalty fees either..I think if anybody looks at this logically they would realize that this man didn't buy this team to have to travel across the US to watch his own team play..You can bet he has promises and other means to move them in the not so distant future..He has something planned that no one here knows about...JMO

That's BS. How do you figure he gets out of paying the penalties?

Rob, agree IMO. Just because someone wishes it to be so, doesn't make it so.

It's not a "no brainer" that an owner wants a team close to where he lives. There are many examples that this logic is flawed. Is it possible? Yes. But the argument that it's 100% certain (which is what "no brainer" connotes) that an owner wants a team close to where he lives is logically and statistically flawed.

Plus, it sounds like he spends a good amount of his time in Taiwan, maybe more there than in Cali. First foreign NBA franchise? 02-13-banana

Just where are they going to relocate to? San Jose looks to be out with the Warriors moving across the Bay. Kansas City and St Louis aren't MAJOR markets. And Seattle just lost their team because of a terrible arena. The Maloofs want to move the Kings to LA. I think that about exhausts all the MAJOR markets.

and Stern just said tonight that the NBA would not allow the Maloofs to relocate to Anaheim

Marc J. Spears ‏@SpearsNBAYahoo
Stern says owners wouldn't approve move of Kings to Anaheim if such was on table and Kings owners plan on staying in Sacramento.

I never said he would get out of paying all the penalties!! What I said was that he would probably not have to fork them out himself..And besides I could be wrong with all I said That's why I said it's my opinion..Personally it doesn't bother me one way or the other I just offered an opinion in which message boards are for, I Think!!

Reality is, no one knows whether he will move the team or not, everything stated on here is just opinion and I gave mine..Sorry if what I said bothered anybody and struck a nerve..I'm not an Nba guy so what I'm saying is just an opinion and nothing more nothing less..I just figure a guy spending that kind of money would want to be as close to the team as possible..

Las Vegas. That is city to worry about. The local government and the casino industry want the NBA badly. There is a lot of money available to make this happen, and more than one party already has plans for a new arena.

I'll never worry about Vegas. They will never have an NBA or NFL team in our lifetimes.

The reasons are obvious.

They just said on the news that if the community doesn't purchase over 14,900 tickets average per game , that the team could get out of the contract where they'd have to pay a penalty (approx. 100 million). But, the the city can purchase the difference to reach that average. Lot's of weird wording in the contract , but it seems that Memphis (the city of ) is in a good spot for keeping the team here for at least 10 more years.

This guy is in his thirties. He can wait ten years, move the team, and still not be fifty.

The attendance stipulations don't kick in until 2021.

If Vegas were a realistic option, the Maloofs wouldn't be trying to move the Kings to Anaheim.

This is correct. Everyone needs to calm down about the Grizzlies moving. It's not happening because there is no place to go.
