Dennis,

Excitement is overtaking Detroit on the day of days..

Send your apology to Mr. David Dombrowski, President, Detroit Tigers Baseball Club... He is the one who is making the moves (Fielder, Infante, Sanchez, etc.)

For your penance, I think you should buy each of your grand children a Tigers 2012 commemorative T-shirt. 04-cheers

or you could call NuPudge's bookie and lay down some hard cash (but buy the T-shirts first):

I'm knocking on wood right now, but with Texas out, I think we have a GREAT chance to go to the World Series. We match up very well with all three of these teams. Texas seemed to have our number, so with them out, I think it's looking very good for us.

Agree, Oakland 1st and then NYY.

IF I had known earlier this week that the Tigers would play at 6:00 pm. and noon tomorrow I might have used a freq flier tix or something to get out for the 2 playoff games + today's FB game.

Doesn't get any better than that. 03-cloud9 03-cloud9 03-cloud9

Time to pick the Tigs post season wins?

I pick Tigs to win 6 games - beat A's 3 - 1 and then lose to the NYY in 7 games.

BTW, here is an article on Sanchez.

As Steve Bell says - got to be able to read through the lines but this is damn clear:

Tigers want Sanchez to sign on as a Tiger. He won't come cheap. 8M in 2012 and will get a raise.

After playing with a loser, I'd think he'd be happy to play for the Tigers and Miggy, V-Mart, Infante, etc.

When one is around 10M does another $1M matter? An extra million is an abstraction to someone making that kind of money.

They'll have Delmon Young coming off the books, as well as potentially Peralta (I believe Jhonny has a team option). They can afford to pay Sanchez, but that price may go even higher if he continues his September form and blows people away in the playoffs. In any event, I hope we keep him. He's proven to be better than Porcello.

I'm officially a believer that Sanchez has a higher dealing than Porcello. I hope we keep him too.

But at 10 mill per season, we are overpaying by quite a bit. He's still our 4th starter.

I believe porcello made 5 mill this year. Sanchez is better, but not 5 mill better.

I say let him go if he wants 8 mill or more. Teams blow their roster flexibility when they overpay for 4th and 5th starters.

Depends how good the #4 is.

Remember during the regular season the #4 gets as many starts as the #1 so he is a pretty important guy.

It isn't like he gets 10 minutes of play in a 40 minute basketball game.

I must say to fans here that I won $100.00 on the Tigers, because I bet a co-worker that the White Sox would choke in the last month of the season.. Go D-Tigers..

EmuSteve, I was saving this money for my rounds of drinks I'd promised for the EMU bowl. I guess I could invest it and watch it grow huh? :-)

BTW, is 2012 a re-mix of the 2006 season:

2006: Tigs over NYY then beat A's and then lost to St. Louis.

2012: Tigs over A's and then (hopefully) beat NYY and then (hopefully) beat St. Louis.

I'll really believe that especially if EMU beats Army this Saturday. Back in 2006, EMU started their season 0-6 then beat Toledo in the 7th game of the season to win their only game that year. This year EMU is 0-6 going into their 7th game of the year another home game. Deja vu?

I remember. I came out for the World Series game (vs. St. Louis)
and attended the UT game.

President Fallon predicted an EMU victory.
