RE: SJU Super Regional
After the way Arizona played last week I am very pleasantly surprised to see the early 5-1 lead. This would be a huge win to open the Super against their ace.

I am currently in Tucson this week but not for the regionals.

Go St. Johns (even though I just left the Arizona campus bookstore and bought Wildcat stuff).

5-5 end of the 6th. Each OF dropped a pop up. Two were tough dives with one being questionable on why dive and the third pop up was just a flat out error.

WAKE UP JOHNNIES!!!

Arizona is tough, especially at home as their offense is built for that field out in the desert. I'll be very impressed if St John's wins today, and even more impressed if they take the weekend series.

Tough break. It sounds like a moral victory which is weak but I'm impressed you took the opener to extras. Arizona's lineup is brutal to face batter after batter hitting over .315, and often over .340. They have a bunch of singles hitters playing in a massive ballpark where the ground is extra dry and they know where to spray the singles. There's a reason they are the top scoring team in the nation out of the major conferences.

Well the bright side is that this was our #3 starter and it was their best guy. Maybe we can take the next two.

RE: SJU Super Regional
Was definitely a good game but a tough loss. I disagree about Hansen being our number three starter, he's probably number one, but our next two are pretty close. Blankmeyer has done a great job with the program, but he drives me crazy coaching third, with the guys he gets thrown out at home. It didn't cost us when it happened against UNC last weekend, but it cost us a run in the 10th today. Anyway it's the opposite of last weekend when we stunned UNC and only needed to win one of the next two, today we got stunned and now need to win two straight. It's not impossible but it won't be easy. Go Johnnies!

Congrats to Arizona, as they just swept 2-time defending champs South Carolina in 2 games. Louisville and St John's were taken out by the eventual national champions.

They were absolutely dominant. While the other 63 teams in the NCAA all lost twice while they finished the tournament 10-0. They also never trailed over 5 games in Omaha.

We should have won the first game of the series and the second game was fudged by a bad catcher interference call in the first inning. We could have beaten them.

"Could" being the key word. You put up a good fight but UA still swept you and was far and away the better team. That was proved over the regular season and their dominating tournament performance.
