Just when you thought you had seen every sports headline ...

"Pitt, Syracuse Fuming About SEC/Big East snubs"

They have to be kidding, right?

The story is from the Sporting News website. Pitt is angry because it was left out of the SEC/Big East basketball challenge, a made-for-ESPN television event that will be played between Nov. 29 and Dec. 1. Pitt had every right to expect a home game -- it played at Tennessee last season -- or at least it did until it decided to sue the Big East in May for an early release so it can join the Atlantic Coast Conference. Syracuse says it will not play its game at Arkansas in the challenge. It will be interesting to see how Syracuse gets out of its contractual commitment, especially since it played Florida at home last season. Its motivation seems purely to be to cause a giant headache for the Big East on its way out of the door to the ACC.

Memo to Pitt and Syracuse officials:

Get over it.

They are incredibly naïve if they think they are going to get any breaks from the Big East.

Nor should they.
