As for the current National Champions-(and truth be told we was the only team to even give them a game....score tied late in the National Semi Finals, Kansas was down by as much as 18 points in the title game).

Don't hate SJU fan...answer these questions:

1. Who had the 2nd Youngest team in College Football and yet still won a share of an AQ League Title.

2. Who was the last team to beat the current Orange Bowl Champions and returns roughly 17 Starters on Offense & Defense.

3. Who won the BIG EAST Men's Tournament and returns the BET MVP along with one of the best Centers/PF in the nation and lead by a "Future HOF Coach.

4. Which current BIG EAST BET Champ is also coming off a Final Four run.

And who will be picked by the coaches of the BIG EAST to win the Men's Basketball Title-(FTR the only school that can beat us in Basketball in the BIG EAST in 2012-2013 is Syracuse) and who will likely be picked to win the Football Title.

It is what it is...deal with it. 05-nono05-stirthepot05-nono

Quit using that win against WVU like you beat LSU. Syracuse beat the Mountaineers last year as well and the last two years to be factual. WVU never went undefeated in the league so don't hang your hat on beating a 10-3 team like you beat one of the best in the game. It doesn't make up for losing to FIU and Marshall.

But if you want to make excuses and close calls, Rutgers had you beat if they didnt drop a wide open pass in the endzone. They return almost their entire defense, but i guess that doesn't count because they aren't louisville.

If previous years final fours mean so much then why didnt UConn make it this year? Why not Butler or VCU? Why didnt MSU, Duke or WVU make it in 2011 since they made it in 2010?

Previous years don't mean chit. UofL will not win the FB championship and they will not win the REGULAR season title in BBall next year.

I'd love to make a little wager on the matter. If UofL wins the FB title AND goes to the BCS game. No co-champs and going to the belk bowl. You need to be the BCS rep. If UofL wins I'll rock a louisville signature of your choice. Nothing degrading just a UofL sports sig. If they DO NOT represent the Big East in the BCS you must rock a SJU signature of my choice. The duration of the BBall season and can not be taken down until a national champ has been crowned.

Now if UofL wins the REGULAR season Big East title in BBall I will rock a UofL signature until FB season starts. If they do not win the Reg season you must rock a SJU signature until FB season starts.

How does that sound?

Either or the Men Regular Season or BET in Men's Basketball and @ minimum a share of the Football Title and we have a bet. My odds are good because since the first Realignment nobody has won as many Regular Season Men's Basketball BIG EAST games or as many Road BIG EAST Basketball Games as Louisville...not say'n...juz say'n.

Just saying, going into the year we will be the favorite in both and you know it.

BTW, when you go to 9 Final Fours with 2 NCAA Titles it does mean something...it means you are one of the Top 10 Men's Basketball Programs of All Time.

FB BCS reps. No 7-6 and a share of the title and we have a deal.

Deal....only issue with the Basketball portion is either accomphishment is hard as hell...it is a rear occurance and the last time before was 2008-2009 which was of course....The Ville. ;-)

Okay, we'll start with the FB wager and revisit the BBall wager at a later date.

What about 2013?

2012

Football: Louisville and/or Cincinnati

Louisville finished tied for first in the conference last year with the second youngest team in FBS football. The Cards return 14 starters from a team that was comprised mostly of freshman and sophomores, including Teddy
Bridgewater (one of if not the top QB prospect in the Big East). The schedule is also favorable as the Cards get two of the other projected main contenders in the Big East (USF and UC) at home. A lot of the problems that led to some embarrassing losses last season (OC issues, freshman playing key starting roles, etc) should be less of an issue this year. Big question marks for me are:

1. Can the Cards improve @home under Strong (6-7 overall and just 3-5 vs. BCS teams)?

2. How much has the O-line improved? This unit was the weak link of the Cardinal football team in 2011 (injuries and lots of underclassmen) and a big part of the reason for the offense's mediocre play.

3. How much has the team matured? Youth and inexperience were an apparent problem all last season and the team lacked solid on-field leadership.

Cincinnati is my other pick. UC is coming off a 10-3 campaign that ended with a 31-24 Liberty Bowl win over Vanderbilt and a share of the Big East championship. They return 12 starters and get Rutgers and South Florida at home. UC has had one of the top football programs in the conference since 2008 (3 titles) and they've beaten UofL 4 straight times. Big question marks for me are:

1. How well will UC replace the loss of its three biggest offensive playmakers (QB Zach Collaros, RB Isaiah Pead, and WR D.J. Woods)?

2. How well will UC replace the loss of three verteran O-linemen, including all-conference guard Randy Martinez? The three had 76 career starts between them and that is a big chunk of experience to lose all at once.

I think Rutgers and USF probably have a good chance as well to take home the title. While Rutgers has a lot of talent returning, they also have a new coach which can be hit or miss. USF also has a ton of returning talent but the Bulls have burned me way too many times for me to pick them straight up.

Basketball Regular Season: Louisville

Louisville is coming off a Big East Tournament championship and a Final Four appearance. While the Cards lost Kyle Kuric and Chris Smith, I would argue that when you look at the players returning (Siva, Dieng, Behanan, Russ Smith) and what UofL will be adding (Montrezl Harrell and possibly Terry Rozier), they'll be the favorite to win the Big East this coming season. Add in a healthy Wayne Blackshear and GMU transfer Luke Hancock and you should have one of the deepest teams in the conference (provided the mass injury problems that plagued the Cardinals the last two seasons doesn't strike again in 2012-2013).

Baseball Regular Season: Louisville or St Johns

Louisville has won or tied for the Big East regular season championship three times in the last four years and they have a lot of young talent on the team. St John's has some young, quality arms on the team and I think they'll definitely be on or very close to the top of the conference next season.

As for 2013, that is way too far out to predict (particularly for hoops) since most team don't know for sure who will be leaving or coming in.

DJ Woods was a non-factor last year-- I mean nada. There were several games were he didn't have a catch and a few more where he only had one or two. In fairness to DJ, the coaches switched him from a slot receiver to playing on the outside. It was a failed experiment. With all respect to Woods for what he did his first three years at UC, he was already gone after 2010.

The biggest issue for UC will be QB play and on defense. If Munchie Legaux continues to develop like he did the last two games of the season, the Bearcats will be fine on offense. The biggest issue for the 'Cats will be on defense. They lose two bulls up front in Wolfe and Hughes (2nd and 3rd round draft picks) and MLB JK Shaffer was all over the field. It does not appear that UC will have much depth this year at DT. That being said UC has a veteran defensive back field, two bookend All-Big East Calbiber Defensive ends in Walter Stewart and Dan Giardano and a beavy of young linebackers.

UC should be in the hunt...

Last time I checked, it is UC with three of the last four Big East football championships. UofL has one co-championship last year, the same year you lost to FIU and Marshall. Good grief, Card, have some well-deserved humility.

Majority rules my Bearcat friend...I give UC tons of credit for winning BE football titles. Now winning all those titles you would think Bearcat nation would return the favor and at least sell out Nippert Stadium on opening game day no matter who they play. Its unfourtunate for UC and the rest of the Big East teams that Louisville has a weapon named Teddy Bridgewater along with some big time defensive players coming to THE VILLE, we will be making our on run for the next decade. We will also show everyone in the BE how to grow their fan base. Looking forward to getting the Keg Of Nails back.

This may qualify as the most delusional thing I have ever seen written on this board in the 8+ years. Are you sure you're not TopCoog?
CJ

We will see whose delusional soon enough...and any titles earned outside of football and basketball...dont really count.

Yeah they do....Well if you host regional's and other home field advantages....With that kind of thinking maybe it is best for Houston to remain in CUSA. I hope most UH fan's understand the big picture.

Just remember this for those that doubt "The Ville" in 2012-2013:

The boys in Las Vegas have Louisville the odds on favorite to win the BIG EAST in Football with a over/under win-loss total of 9.5 wins.

In Basketball Louisville along with Indiana are Co-Favorites to win the NCAA Men's Basketball Title in 2012-2013.

They made a lot of $$$ get'n people to try & beat them....that is all.
