7. North Texas

9. Florida Atlantic
10. South Alabama
Some thoughts:
WKU too high - they caught lightning in a bottle last year. They won't be sneaking up on anyone, especially without Rainey.
MT is too low. Team has too much talent to stay down long. Too much went wrong last year.
FIU should be higher, up there with ASU and UL as the top 3 in the conference.
I'd go:
1. ASU
2. FIU
3. UL
4. Troy
5. MT
6. ULM
7. NT
8. WKU
9. FAU
10. USA
I beg to differ. We will win the Belt this year. 8th----HA HA HA
You find a quarterback none of us know about?
We still have the one that won 7 out of our last 8 games.
Losing only to the #1 team in the nation.
How did your starting QB do?
You won't hear any Cajun fans downing your QB. He has looked like Peyton Manning against us the last two years.

Too many losses offensively, and their defense isn't good enough to stop the better offenses in the conference. PLUS, both FIU and UNT have big targets on their chests; every coach and player in the conference will be gunning for them to make sure they get a proper sendoff to CUSA as lower tier SBC teams. Not saying they'll lose every week, but they WILL be a target every week, and will get everyone's A game..
I recall us having the best D in the conference, and ULL being all O. Considering that we are returning almost all our starters on D, if we don't do well it certainly will not be because "our defense is not good enough".
I think you guys should be worried about your D. 'Cause if BG get hurt or shutdown it will be a long season.
If BG gets hurt or shut down, we will plug in Terrence Broadway.. they are essentially interchangeable. I agree with you that our D should be a concern, and it is. But I am not worried about the offense at all, even if BG goes down.
VO from a talent level it won't be a drop off. He is a heck of a player, but let's just keep BG in the games. Never like to trade a known for an unknown. We do know Broadway has 1A experience, just saying I would rather see him in staring in 2013 and gaining time in 2012.
I agree completely, Express; I was just pointing out to the FIU guy that we do have a more than adequate replacement should BG be unable to play for whatever reason.
Is he built like BG?

Broadway is about 2" taller than Gauthier and maybe 10 lb heavier, and appears to be a bit faster, but not quite as physical as a runner. As a passer, he is basically a right handed version of Gauthier.

FIU returns all 11 starters on defense for the #1 scoring defense in the Sun Belt last year (and #14 in the nation). Our offense loses big in T.Y. Hilton, one OL, the Tight End (when not playing 4 wideouts),and QB Wesley Carroll from last season.

Wow, Arkansas St at #5 is a pretty bold prediction...

Most of the toughest games are on the road. We lost a lot of defensive players from last year. New coach.
I can see those predicting it.

FAU in the top five? I'm a bit confused by that one. Why do you rank FAU so highly? And no FIU in the top tier?

I think it has something to do with a QB running for his life on September 17, 2011 and a final score of 17-10 that was not in his favor.
Expect a repeat performance this season.

That defense held the Cajuns to only 36 points at home. Not bad.
I am not saying FIU won't win some games, Only that their D is not any better than WKU's, at least against the Cajuns.
Ya'll are sort of a mirror image of the Cajuns. We have the proven O and a D that may or may not be any good.

VSOPs talking a lot of smack lately! FIUs 14th ranked defense or ULs 86th ranked defense. This one is tough to decipher...

True about the Cajuns, ASU, and Duke scoring on FIU's Defense last year. Even with that, the stats are what they are, and we do return all starters on that side of the ball.

Mr. Rainy won those games in spite of your QB. imo. i just have a hard time seeing WKU winning the conference with all stAte and the cajuns return. and if one of those two teams don't win i hope ULM does. just so i don't feel so bad about them still pretending to have a football program in our conference. although for 1 game a year I'm the biggest ULM fan that their is.
