Saw this intriguing article which investigates the recent happenings from mysterious rashes, enraged and uncontrollable suspect arrested, and the naked man who ate a hobo's face off.
Damn good ammo. I'm a little hesitant to use it as my carry ammo. I works great, but not sure I want to try to explain zombie Max ammo on the stand. Yeah I know its the same stuff as the critical defense round
I was watching something on the discovery channel about Edgar Alan Poe, who was found in a stupor/daze. Was taken to a hospital, where he wouldn't take in water then attacked and tried to bite several people before dying.
It's now thought that he died of rabies, contracted from one of his cats.
It's interesting how the reported cases of rabid humans are just like movie zombies. Which is probably where they get a lot of their material.
Was there not a recent movie that alluded to there being a connection?
And then the Caribbean zombies are different but still very interesting. The serpent and the rainbow is a classic.

Almost the same. Different finish on the casings, Z-Max is just brass, while the Crit Defense has a nickel finish to help with feeding, creates a smoother surface for cycling. If you think that's good, you should look up Cor Bon. A 90gr. 9mm JHP round produces a similar amount of force a .45 ACP 230gr. does, about 485 ft-lbs.
I know its old school, but for my 40s&w I like winchester silver tips. 505 ft-lbs of energy and always expands! I hear the ranger t's are really good. I have shot the 135 corbons as well.
I'm carrying speer gold dots in my 9mms.
Not sure about +p in my LC9. Lot of recoil and wasted powder down the barrel.

Now, I'm carrying Silvertips in my first mag in my Beretta 9mm and Speer Gold dots in the second mag. In the compact, you're better off using a heavier bullet, try to find a 147 grain 9mm hollowpoint. As for my USP .40 compact, it is filled with Winchester supreme elite 188 grain hollow points.
The Winchester Ranger T series is actually the old Black Talons without the Lubalox coating. Currently, IIRC, it is only available to law enforcement due to the barbs on the end of the petals when the hollowpoint expands. My dad is a LEO, so I'm hoping I can get some through him in his next order of ammo.

Yeah the Ranger T is basically the old Black Talon and is LE only. the SXT is the ranger t minus the barb. Its not against the law to sell or use LEO only ammo. It is a pain to find somewhere to get it. My local gun shop just retired and that leaves me with the Big Box Stores and Walter Craig as my ammo sources.
I carry a .357 Magnum for CC use. I used to carry an automatic, but I am much more accurate with a six-shooter. Must be my cowboy/outlaw roots.
The old standbys for me are Federal Premium Hydra-Shok JHP 158 Grain, and when I'm in the woods metal detecting or fishing I'll slip in two .38/.357 Calibers CCI Handgun Shotshells 109 Grain #9 Shot. Those are great for making "snake-slaw".
For carry, I like the Speer Gold Dot 40 S&W 180 gr JHPs. Smooth with the Nickel casing but they are pricey (like around $1.25 per round).
When I'm firing on the range, I like to spit out either TulAmmo 40 S&W 180 gr FMJs or MBI 180 gr FMJs. Both brands are pretty cheap and very reliable. I get these for around 27 cents per round.
Speaking of .357, I just got a loader for my old Colt Trooper today while at work. I don't reload my own hollow points, just my range stuff ... my Beretta likes the lead round nosed reloads, but with my H&K having a polygonal barrel it would get some nasty wear if my loads don't have a copper jacket or aren't copper plated.
The next revolver I purchase, I'm actually leaning to a .41 Mag. It was produced to be an in-between round for the .357 and the .44 mags, but never caught on in popularity. The ballistics on them look fantastic, but I'm not sure as to how manageable the recoil is for a faster shooting style.

A 41 mag is on my wish list. I shoud have bought one of the Taurus Titaninum ones when I could.
The wife carries a S&W M65 lady smith. The lead fouling is a pain to get off. I have some LE only +p 38 special 158 grain lead hps that make a nice exit hole!

I used to have a Lady Smith in .32 short, ended up selling it, ammo was hard to find. My next purchase might end up being a 1911, I haven't ever shot or owned one before. I'm surrounded by Night Hawk, Kimber, Les Baer, Dan Wesson, Colt, S&W, and Sig 1911s every day.
