The Herald-Dispatch

HUNTINGTON -- NBCSports.com contributor Kellon Hassenstab mentioned Marshall University among a handful of non-BCS schools with men's basketball recruiting classes that could have an impact as early as next season which haven't received much attention.

Hassenstab, who runs the recruiting website Hoopniks.com, reported that Wichita State, Marshall, Fresno State, San Diego State and Towson have under-the-radar classes.

Well, Marshall's class became more prominent when JucoRecruiting.com put Thundering Herd recruits Elijah Pittman and D.D. Scarver in its 2012 junior college Top 100 player rankings. Pittman, a 6-foot-8 forward from Lamar State College in Port Arthur, Texas, was No. 21 in the Top 100 rankings while the 6-4 Scarver from Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas, was No. 23.
