I have not been to Atlanta in a long time. But like Oldtiger says, the old Underground was a pretty rocking place as I seem to recall. Hey it was the 60's and 70's. My recollection may be fuzzy.

Best men's store in the country, Sid Mashburn, is in Atlanta. Though, I admit, there aren't many single items in their for under $100 much less a boatload of stuff that you could get for that amount.

Now, IBleedBlue, I'm gonna set you straight, kiddo. "Underground Atlanta" was new when I was at Emory in 1970, and it was a rocking and safe place, a new entertainment concept just like Overton Square. However, the Underground was anything BUT new at that time. It is actually a real retail area that existed long before the railroads were built over it, back into the 1800's, I think. Google it. It was simply "reclaimed" and spruced up to make money. I think lately that area is quite sketchy, as is a lot of the downtown fringe area and the area around CNN. Still worth a visit to CNN and downtown, but just be careful.

Underground reopened in the late 80s when we lived there and was one of the most fantastic places in downtown. The riots in 1992 after the initial Rodney King verdicts drove a lot of the suburbans away from downtown for awhile until the Olympics brought people back toward downtown and Underground thrived again for a few years. Lot's has changed since then, though.

Kind of doubtful they'd ever seriously consider Memphis; although, I don't see why they wouldn't make a killing at Saddle Creek or Collierville considering how many women here are obsessed with them, but all us male Memphians probably should get a petition going on change.org against H&M ever coming just in case.

Tough break for a good kid...but seriously, if an H&M were to open in Memphis there would be no point in going for the first month: everything would be snatched off the rack as the workers put them on, the store would be void of any merchandise and there would probably be some type of riot.
