I'm not a complicated guy, and even though a passionate fan, cannot remember a complicated chant.

However, in the spirit of football gameday chants, wny can't we start the traditional "ODU" chant, only at a slower cadence?

For example, the student section (which should lead this), chants a prolonged "O......"

Then the home side chants a prolonged "D.........."

Then the visitor side (my side) chants a prolonged "U............"

Kind of like the "let's go", "mountaineers" at WVU, just a little more succinct.

COuld even stand up when it your turn to chant, for effect.

I have sat through countless school songs at the end of basketball games, and can only remember "old dominion. hail" at the end. Let's make it easy, yet effective.

Getting crazy here, maybe even the CHEERLEADERS could spearhead this chant.......if not, I know Sithlord will carry the torch if he buys into it.

That's what drives me nuts... this type of thing is what the cheer teams and university people should be doing for game day atmosphere.

In basketball, we had (and they still do) the WORST problem keeping the "O-D-U" chant slow! For some reason it always sped up at an unbelievable pace. We have to have some sort of cadence, or rhythm to help our fans out. A drum, some cheerleaders, something on the video board...

Btw, if anybody's seen some of the crowd participation threads on the main board, there are some pretty sweet ones...Can't wait until we have an expanded (full) stadium.

I just happended to be listening to Ludicris while reading this...

1. We play the beginning of "Act a Fool" except for saying "Act a fool", we say "O-D-U". Have to watch the video to see/hear it.

2. "All I do is Win" song - when he says "UP" every 3rd person has an O-D or U card and raises it... and of course lowers them on "down"

Whenever music plays in a football stadium, the #1 most imporant thing is VOLUME. It's gotta be loud.

What about this song, "Never Scared" by Bonecrusher blaring before the team runs on the field...while everyone gets hype.

- mainly the chorus (a resounding "I ain't never scared" repeated)

(Some coarse language in the vid..)

Personally, I'd "steal" the Admirals Calder Cup playoffs intro. It would be pretty awesome hearing as the football team is running out on the field:
