Does that sound like the right wing to you?

Contrary to popular belief Facism and Marxism are not opposites...
Yes. It DOES sound like the rightwing.

No it doesn't, you incompetent, broke idiot.
At least I didn't/don't make my living on the government tit like you.

That dog don't hunt, dipsh*t.
Really? Were you or were you not in the military? Were you or were you not getting paid through tax dollars at your last job? So how much of your life have you lived off the taxpayer? I am thinking it has been a good portion of your life. This isn't about bashing you as a soldier(which is very much appreciated) or where you worked after. It is about your complaining about government spending yet benefitting from the government.

Look, you f*cking sh*tstain, serving in the United States Army is NOT being a leech on society. When it comes to defending this nation, the citizenry can't expect fatass pu**sies like you to stand up in her defense. I'd LOVE to see you try that argument with anyone in uniform and in person. As for contracting. Since you're so Goddamned stupid you don't understand how the contracting process works, the government, trying to appease it's people or work for it's people, decides on a project. They need to get people to BUILD that project. Since it's not financially feasible to keep an entire crew of GS employees on board for that project that has an end date, and employees it damn near takes an act of congress to get rid of, you contract it out to a private company that HAS to do it at the lowest cost, unlike the government who normally doesn't CARE about the damn cost. Once the project is over, you cut ties.

Really Robert, I can see why you're a 39 year old fuken loser, who lives in a 1 BR apartment working for beans. You're about one of the stupidest ******* idiots on this board.

I am very much aware of how it works. I have worked for a number of temp firms(though not for the government) from a position using my degree to my current position(though, I am permanent now and not temp anymore).

And for a third time. Just in case you missed it. THis isn't about you serving the country. It is your complaining about government spending.

Reb,

Having been a civi with the great lakes USACe district I can back you up on this. USACE used to maintain their own dredging fleets on the great lakes but it was no longer feasible to maintain them. So now they contract out that work, as well as large construction.

USACE does the design, Quality control, and regulatory work.

To call me a hypocrite goes right along with your thought that military service is being a leech. How else could it be perceived? I served in the military. I don't like welfare leeches. You say that I "took" government money (We'll just forget about the f'n 70+ hours per week I was putting in, multiple deployments, getting up at 5 f'n AM, etc. and not getting off 'til sometimes 8PM), and that makes me a hypocrite because, in doing that, I'm some sort of a leech.

Stop backtracking, 'lil *****.

The fact you were serving in the military doesn't change the point he's trying to make; you relied on the government for employment. I wouldn't consider that to be a leach, but he's saying in other contexts you called others in the same situation 'leaches'. Not sure if you have or haven't.

The fact they want to lump in soldiers *eg people who give up right's and can't quit* with government employees is just sad..

Do you or Robert have any concept of the number of private corporations that "rely" on the US Government for "employment"?

I work for a fairly large worldwide express transportation company based in Memphis. I work with the international movement of classified materials for the various military bases and the private contractors that support them. We have many employees - legal, operations, compliance, sales, etc. - that work for this express company that supports the CONTRACTORS that work for the MILITARY. Yes, we also directly support the US military in some areas.

I have attended seminars where literally thousands of these VENDORS meet to learn various things to meet their project goals. The scope of the private sector jobs that support the US military is immense in both manpower and depth of project level coordination.

Robert was being snarky about people who serve in the military as living off the "government tit". That is a slam to the military. Are there some slackards in the military? Sure - just like there are in every private sector and government sector job in this country. I will say this - there are a helluva lot LESS of that in the military than any other employee group.

My point is to show there are literally hundreds of thousands of private sector jobs that are directly related to supporting the US military. A lot of ex-military personnel are in these jobs.

To me, "living off the government tit" is an individual of normal working age and in decent physical condition that CHOOSES to keep collecting unemployment or welfare or food stamps or other giveaway supplement instead of seeking to better their situation.

I love that since I was simply clarifying the words of Robert, and despite making it a point to say I don't know whether or not he's accurate, I still get flamed. Learn to read pals.

Safety tip: Defending/assisting Robert will put you in the cross hairs on this board. At best he's a troll; at worst he's willfully ignorant. Your credibility (if that's important to you) will not survive prolongation of this behavior. 03-wink

Why is it that none of you rightwingers can understand what I am trying to say?
