RE: Off Topic. ACC to Nbe: No, we don't want to play you in a bowl.
Since my comment was quoted a lot, and I was being a bit of a joker about it, I do want to say that USM, Tulsa, and ECU would fit right in with the level of football the Big East plays/will be playing. But beyond that, there's a big drop off in performance. And that drop off is what separates the Big East from CUSA. And while Memphis is blowing hard right now, that's probably the only team in the Big East that is substantially worse than the top tier of CUSA (but they just got a coach with a ton of potential so they could turn it around). I do wish CUSA teams the best, but beyond USM, ECU, Tulsa (and sometimes Marshall and UTEP), let's not pretend that UNCC, UTSA, ODU, FIU, La Tech, UNT, Rice, Tulane, etc are at the same consistent (keyword here, beating one of these teams on a down year doesn't amount to much unless it's consistent) level as Boise State, UConn, Rutgers, Cinci, USF, Houston, or even SDSU/SMU. The new CUSA is going to take a drop in football level initially, but that's not to say it can't grow. That's why they went after the schools that they got, there's potential in every single one of them. But let's be realistic here.

FIU beat BE co-champ UL and also beat UCF last year. Marshall also beat BE co-champ UL. Memphis blows, Temple didn't beat a winning team from the MAC in its entire stay, Boise State is one year removed from the WAC and will no longer be able to accept 10-15 NQ's every year, SDSU just lost to a Sun Belt school in a bowl game, Houston hasn't done anything without Keenum, and SMU is a middling CUSA school that recently ended a 25 year bowless streak. Is that real enough for you?

You also went 1-1 against the two best FB programs remaining in CUSA. What's your point?

His point is you suck as much as we do. To think anything more is naive.

Outside of last year and 2009, what has UH done worth a damn in CUSA in any sport?

LOL

Poor UAB, and their 56-13 beatdowns and being held hostage by the Gumps. So sad. The fact that we don't have to ask permission to build a stadium already puts UH and UAB on two, completely different levels. Not to mention you're probably the only school in CUSA that has yet to be mentioned (even in passing) in any realignment talk, whatsoever.

Regarding your question, even if '09 and '11 was the end all, be all of our football program (neither are even in the top 10 of UH's best seasons, BTW), those two years would still be more than UAB has ever done.

2 Conf. Championships
4 CCG appearances
8 bowl appearances (7 since 2003)

Oh yeah: 4-1 vs UAB since 2003; avg score of those games UH 43 UAB 18.

That's a mighty powerful conference y'all are constructing. Mighty powerful indeed.

How many bowl games has UAB been to again?
