So Wisconsin's largest left-leaning newspaper supports Walker, all for honest reasons, and for the fact that the Dems have made a farce of themselves yet again.

Care to comment Mach?

Clearly, the Koch Brothers bought out the newspaper just so they could endorse Walker.

I read it. It makes me sick to my stomach. That's my comment. Intrrade had Walker in the 90's to win. This is calling for something after the hay is in the barn.

Remember when UMGrad proclaimed that a Walker defeat was a certainty? That it was most definitely going to happen?

Wonder if he still has that same certitude?

Mach,

the paper was dead on recalling Walker because he did what he said he would do would be like impeaching Obama because coal plants are closing. The leftist who protested should have just left it at the protest, they were winning the narrative.

Instead they dump a ton of money into an unwinnable election (hopefully unwinnable) and not only lose their narrative but hand the GOP a big win, in a key state, just months before a presidential election.

The problem is they started to believe their own talking points...

This was not a war on teachers, nor a crime against unions, nor an attempt to cut money away from the dems.

This was about a philosophical view that many on the right have of public sector unions. A view that was also held by FDR who was not exactly a right winger.

That view, and the financial situation the state was in, led walker to try and fix the problem in a way that everyone knew he would.

Now his method has been tried, has shown some promise, and most importantly have been tested by a recall election. So the GOPers running for office in Wisconsin can now all say "The policies were so Good Walker won a recall election on them"

I love his pain.

Don't discount the dem's ability for fraud in trying to defeat Walker. I'm betting we'll find numerous ballots in trunks and the dead voting.

The tea leaves point to a Walker win, but I'm not banking on it til it's all certified.

When the same type of stuff happened here in Ohio they beat it back pretty severely , but it looks like they only went after teachers in Wisconsin. What those firefighters and policeman have to understand is that yes, it's teachers today. Twenty years from now it will be them. The right wing is just pickin them off one at a time. It is interesting. The ebb and flow of it all.

Them what? You deny that unions have extorted state and local governments? The evidence is ubiquitous, throughout the country, not just WI. The abuses by service unions are egregious, and outright theft to those citizens who pay taxes.

What is your problem with collective bargaining? Other than it raises costs. Should public employees just take what boards offer? They are balancing the books on public employees backs. We didn't cause this recession. Freeze salaries. Don't pass laws that cripple unions. Funny how Kasich said he needed SB 5 for the economy to improve. Ohio's seems to be moving forward. Could this assault on public unions just be a political play? It's all just political theatre. I'm just troubled by the fact that so many people are willing to sell each other out.

The left isn't going to lose this election. We are always a step ahead of you righties, and this case is no different. Whether Walker stays or goes, the left has won.

Gov't employees have abused the system by voting in blocs that allow them to control both sides of the bartaining table.

Quote: Should public employees just take what boards offer?

Yes.

Quote: They are balancing the books on public employees backs.

Uh, so what? They're the ones who unbalanced the books. Besides, it's not like they're becoming impoverished. They're just losing some of their Cadillac benefits plans.

Quote: We didn't cause this recession.

You're wrong about that. Gov't contributed a lot to this. You'll never get a correct answer until you start w/ the correct premises and facts.

Quote: Freeze salaries. Don't pass laws that cripple unions. Funny how Kasich said he needed SB 5 for the economy to improve. Ohio's seems to be moving forward.

Funny how the left said that the world would end when all those local gov't employees got laid off. Guess it cuts both ways.

But, Ohio is far from out of the woods yet. I suspect they'll take a hit very soon, b/c they've got so few investments that can grow, and you can only sell off assets so many times.

Well, I guess if you put it that way, "Win or lose, I declare we win," then yeah, you're good to go.
