the paper was dead on recalling Walker because he did what he said he would do would be like impeaching Obama because coal plants are closing. The leftist who protested should have just left it at the protest, they were winning the narrative.
Instead they dump a ton of money into an unwinnable election (hopefully unwinnable) and not only lose their narrative but hand the GOP a big win, in a key state, just months before a presidential election.
The problem is they started to believe their own talking points...
This was not a war on teachers, nor a crime against unions, nor an attempt to cut money away from the dems.
This was about a philosophical view that many on the right have of public sector unions. A view that was also held by FDR who was not exactly a right winger.
That view, and the financial situation the state was in, led walker to try and fix the problem in a way that everyone knew he would.
Now his method has been tried, has shown some promise, and most importantly have been tested by a recall election. So the GOPers running for office in Wisconsin can now all say "The policies were so Good Walker won a recall election on them"
