ECU vs the New Big East the New C-USA
Looks like things have gotten a lot tougher for us... 03-wink

ECU lifetime vs Boise State, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Houston, Louisville, Memphis, Navy, Rutgers, San Diego State, SMU, South Florida, Temple, and UCF:

57 wins, 35 losses (.620)

ECU lifetime vs Charlotte, FIU, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, North Texas, ODU, Rice, Southern Miss, Tulane, Tulsa, UAB, UTEP, UTSA:

52 wins, 50 losses (.510)

Granted, 27 of those 50 losses are at the hands of Southern Miss, but interesting nonetheless.

You almost have to create a separate "Wins without Southern Miss beating our ass" category in these kinds of things.

Hey guys, for the record, I'm all for ECU in the Big East. Have no idea why ECU was left out. I think ECU has alot to offer including good program with good facilities, great area of the country (heart of ACC country), good fan base and good football history.

Far as your head-to-head in football against Southern Miss goes, don't feel like the Lone Ranger, for nearly if not exactly a decade, USM tormented UAB on the gridiron, can't tell you enough how glad I am as a fan to have not only gotten that "600 lb. Gorilla" off of our backs, but have a streak of our own going against them.

Although I'm not against any school seeking to better themselves, I am glad that East Carolina is still a part of Conference USA, where I'm concerned, a most valued and respected member. I hope that the new additions will only add to the emerging allure of the Conference in all sports, but especially in football. See you guys down the road...ECU..."No Quarter Given."...UAB..."None Taken."

I've occasionally asked myself the same thing, and agree with all said here, although my previous post suggests that I'm glad that ECU is still in C-USA.

When you look at wins and losses it's pretty simple to see why ECU was left out. The nBE didn't want ECU coming in and beating everyones asses year in and out.

North Texas is 0-1 vs. ECU. We lost the game 49-16. I'm thinking we will improve a little by the time we hit C-USA in 2013. Still could be a while before we contend in this conference.

This market crap needs to stop and be reversed. Much better to have a conference filled with teams that have great fan support and killer football teams than teams that just happen to be in some large market, a market that they probably don't even own. Any team can have fans all over the country if people become interested in seeing them play.

Kinda like Boise. Never been anywhere close to Idaho, had never heard of em, didn't give two hoots about em, but suddenly they're out there making Oklahoma eat crow pie in a BCS bowl and I wanted to see more. Now that they're gonna be in the BE, the allure is gone.................

Just a question though, isn't the current/future BE CUSA anyway?
