11-2 -6-1 #8 Big East champs with a win over Va. Tech in the Orange Bowl.
Avg. attendance 53,112....Lets see how this turns out several months from now.

Big east winner is going to the sugar bowl this year. It's their turn to take us. Last year was wvu in the orange, the year before UConn in the fiesta, this year Rutgers in the sugar after going 10-2, 7-1 #15 beating UGA.

Selection order is the same in Jan of 2013 as it was in 2012. Big East Champ is likely going to the Orange Bowl again.

4. After steps No. 1, 2 and 3 have been completed, any bowl with an unfilled slot shall select a team from the automatic qualifiers and/or at-large teams in the following order

January 2011 games: Sugar, Orange, Fiesta

January 2012 games: Fiesta, Sugar, Orange

January 2013 games: Fiesta, Sugar, Orange

LOL uh...no

Sadly, we have a better chance of going 12-0 than we do selling every home game at Nippert. No way we sell out games to Fordham and Delaware State.

I think our Bearcats are going to suprise people this year. We lost Pead but we have a boatload of talent at the position (better than ever before). I expect Munchie to improve his completion percentage just by natural progression. The WR corps has something to prove after last season and our offensive line is stout. We have two bookend defensive ends who will terrorize opposing QB's this season and our secondary is the deepest, most experienced unit on the team (Safety Drew Frye is what 32 years old, LOL!).

I think the floor for this team is 8-4, just because the OOC is weak and we get Pitt, Rutgers and USF at home. I would not be surprised if this team wins 10 games again, which will be the 5th time in 6 years this club has done so.

I saw the link but that makes no sense. Orange goes last twice, sugar always picks second? Fiesta gets 1st twice? That makes zero sense. It's always been a rotation.

Agree that we CAN beat them, just being realistic. It's early in the season and our offense may need a little time to start clicking. Plus, it's on the road and a week after we play a severly underrated La. Tech team.

Honestly, transition is probably the best state UCLA can be in. They always have a ton of talent and do almost nothing with it. We'll see.

USM is rebuilding. Who else is there in the East? Maybe Marshall? UCF looks like a heavy favorite.

In the West, Houston is somewhat rebuilding. Tulsa is good, but (IMHO) not quite as talented as SMU.

I think UCF is definitely the cream of the East. There's no doubt in my mind they'll be in the championship.

Houston is losing Case Keenum, but Piland is a redshirt sophomore with a half a season worth of starts under his belt. We're also returning 4 O-linemen with a ton of starts. Anyone really believe we'll have trouble finding athletes to catch the ball? SMU should be very good, but they're picked to beat Houston every year. I'll believe it when I see it. Tulsa's a paper tiger. They're not keeping up in terms of size and athleticism.

The best home attendance average in Tiger history didn't have one single SEC game on the home schedule. We drew 20K last year with an abysmal record and a coach who everyone knew was going to be fired. With the enthusiams of the new coaching staff, a soon-to-be new conference afiliation, and a new GIANT video board, we should easily exceed 20K. I'm thinking more like 30-32K, depending on our W/L record.

I pride myself in being an objective fan. I’ll say my predictions are cautiously optimistic. Based on a fairly tough out of conference schedule and a huge step up in conference competition I will settle for 6 wins and 5 losses. If somehow they can squeak it out to 7 and 4 I will be happy!

Home attendance should average 35,000.

My choice for a bowl would be the Pin Stripe Bowl for obvious reasons, but realistically the first year in the BE at this point ill take any bowl they make.

I’m looking forward to a fun season.

I'm looking at 9-3. VT is one of those so-called "big-time" opponents for which we never really seem to take the next step (e.g. Oklahoma, Florida, Tennessee,...). UL is expected to be the class of the BE, and by now, they are probably pretty tired of losing to us 03-lmfao UConn, we've only beat them once in the Rent, in 2006, and that was a last-second FG. We usually stink it up there 03-puke

2012-2013 SCHEDULE
Date Opponent / Event Location Time / Result
Thu., Sep. 6 vs. Pittsburgh * TV Nippert Stadium 8:00 p.m. ET W
Sat., Sep. 15 vs. Delaware State Nippert Stadium TBA W
Sat., Sep. 29 vs. Virginia Tech FedEx Field - Landover, Md. TBA L
Sat., Oct. 6 vs. Miami (OH) Nippert Stadium TBA W
Sat., Oct. 13 vs. Fordham Nippert Stadium TBA W
Sat., Oct. 20 at Toledo Toledo, Ohio TBA W
Fri., Oct. 26 at Louisville * TV Louisville, Ky. 8:00 p.m. ET L
Sat., Nov. 3 vs. Syracuse * Nippert Stadium TBA W
Sat., Nov. 10 at Temple * Philadelphia, Pa. TBA W

UConn:

Wins: at Maryland, UMass, Buffalo

Toss-ups: at Western Michigan, Cincy, Syracuse, Pitt, At USF, Temple

Losses: NCSU (they are not that good, but will overwhelm us week 2), at Rutgers, at Louisville

Think we beat Cincy, Pitt, and WMU on the "toss-up" list. Could upset NCSU; could lose to Maryland. I see 6-6.

BJ you are a lot more optimistic than I am...imo if we go 9-3 that will be huge.

I'm not sold on our qb situation, we lost some key players on both sides of the ball and while we have a lot of depth and talent i see this as a rebuidling year more. I hope you are right and I'm wrong!

I don't consider myself overly optimistic. I just think our schedule is very weak.

Other than VT, we have two MAC teams and two FCS. Toledo will be a very tough challenge, but I'll be disappointed if we are not 5-1 going into PJCS.

This is a year where we have four home BE games. I will be very disappointed if we lose any of those, even the ones against Rutgers and USF (the last of those being on a probably cold Thanksgiving day). Consider that our three BE roadies include Louisville, Temple and UConn, and I have two losses coming from that group.

I'm not that concerned with our QB. I think the excessive negativity people show towards Munchie Legaux is unwarranted. He's not a perfect QB at this point, but for one, there are no world-beaters at the position in this league, and he does happen to have three career starts (he's 2-1). The action he saw last season is huge for him. Running back is a legitimate concern, but there is a lot of talent there, and our OL will be solid enough for all skill players to grow into their roles. I will be PO'd if our WRs are not more productive than a year ago.

I will also be disappointed if the secondary and STs are not among the league's best.

We lose Shaeffer, but overall, our LB is more deep. The DL lost a couple great ones, but there are still Stepp, Giordorno, Mills and especially Stewart.

I don't think we're a shoo-in for the title, obviously, but I don't think there are a slew major weaknesses.

All of it sounds great, just rather not put the cart before the horse. I could certainly understand having expectations of 30k or more had we been in Temple's situation and started in the Big East this year. Its just a hard pill to swallow considering we had a game last year, on national tv no less, that had around 5,000 fans in the stands. I'm a diehard Tigers fan, so I'm hoping you're right and I'm not!

It really was more fun when we averaged a decent crowd during the DeAngelo Era. Kinda like going to the Griz playoff games vs. their regular season games.
