UNT hasn't had a winning season in 6 years. And next year body bag schedule consisting of road games at Houston, Kansas State, and LSU (with the only OOC home game against a FCS team) isn't looking really good for UNT's chances for a bowl game next year.
Don't get me wrong, you aren't the worst two programs in the Belt (although UNT has been competing for that august "honor" recently), but you certainly aren't 'too good' for the Belt as far as your demonstrated performance on the field is concerned.
I don't think you'll fail against CUSA competition. But you don't have to be better than a Belt team to be marginally competitive against such FBS powers as UTEP, UTSA, Rice, Tulane, FIU, UNT, UAB, Charlotte, and Old Dominion.
Well, what'll be funny is when we beat Houston. I'm not being delusional, but that's a team that was carried by a player and a player that fit into that coach's system. 2-2 OOC. We'll represent the SBC in a bowl. Watch and learn, kiddo. We nearly beat Kansas State two years ago. Just sayin'.

You do know that Houston was good before Sumlin and Keenum, right? Ever heard of Art Briles and Kevin Kolb?
I expect them to regress, but I don't think they're suddenly garbage.

Slight correction. We lost to CUSA's Marshall. stAte was the sun belt team that lost to a MAC squad.
Carry on sir!

Kolb was like Keenum. Briles and Sumlin had pretty much the same system they instituted. UH's new QB is pitiful from what I've seen and heard. I'm heading down to Robertson this year. Will be fun.

Are you referring to David Piland?
He went 2-6, but he threw for 2,600 yards with 24 TDs against 14 INTs, as a freshman in 2010 when Keenum was hurt.

FIU's stadium looks half-built, it never came close to being a consistent Sun Belt power and drew 3,000 to 4,000 people to a critical home game last season against Troy that was shown on ESPN.

2,600 yards, 24 TDs and 14 INTs isn't acceptable in UH's system. This is proved by the 2-6 record.

BMarkey, are you hoping that CUSA will hear you and withdraw the invite and give it to your owls instead? Because the owl's brand new house was packed all season long, right? And Troy was overflowing as well?

aaaawwwwwww, LOL, not even worth answering anymore, but I'll do it anyway. FIU stadium didn't put us into such a hole that we have to play 3 money games each year AND raise fees on our students because attendance during the inaugural year of the stadium was FAR LESS than projections. Instead, at our "half-built" stadium, we have hosted USF, UCF, Rutgers, Duke and will be hosting Pitt and Louisville. We won the critical home game with Troy, ESPN is coming back to our half-built stadium next year and we will move on after that. For your sake, I hope you move on as well, and don't give FIU another thought.

And I believe that Texas A & M is also coming to our half-built stadium. Oh and it will be "fully built" soon enough. The stadium is being fully enclosed as I write and additional upgrades for next year have already been planned. By the way, I like all this hostility being aimed at FIU. As a fan we should appreciate negative comments as this indicates we are doing something right. Nobody takes the time to hate or insult the losing programs the way they do with winning programs.
