I can see the UTSA Orange is a little darker but the blues look identical.

Here is a way to remember the difference.

One has a long tradition of D1A/FCS football and a national championship in basketball.

The other got into CUSA ONLY because of their television market and will be a bottom dweller for years to come (no facilities, no stadium, etc...), played a NAIA schedule last year, and whose "fans" had the distinct smell of chicken on their breath when attending football games.

One is the kid who worked hard to put himself through college, then worked his arse off to climb the company ladder.

The other is the screw off nephew of the poor land owner who suddenly becomes wealthy when oil is discovered on their land (the Jethro Bodine's of the college football world). They go to the big city (in this case, CUSA) where everyone is ammused at their backwards ways. But, they really don't do much of anything, except sit around and belch and fart.

I'll let you decide who is who.

LOL! Great post bud. 04-cheers

Meh..

I think I made sports friends with the program that deserves my sports friendship.

UNT needs to check themselves..... Kelly Green is rep'd by Marshall here.05-nono

Bow down and give props the conference that rescued you from the Sun Belt.

Not bowing down to anyone, especially to a fan of the school that lays flat on back with legs spead wide awaiting the 2 AM drunken call of the Big East. Been reading on here for a while, and some of your fans remind me of the self-entitled asses at SMU (except without the deep pockets).

UNT earned this promotion. Blood, sweat, and tears, my Big East aspiring friend. We bow to no one.

As far as Marshall is concerned, nice school, good movie, and apparently easy swim team girls (although not the smartest male student... uh... body). We will see who has the stronger green.

The 2 teams I have decided to sports hate in the new conference are:

1. UTSA - because they haven't earned a damn thing, their attendance will be 10K in a cavernous Alamodome, and they will be a drain on the conference.

2. ECU - because of their fans on this board, who seem to think that ECU is the east coast Norte Dame (just because your colors are similiar doesn't mean you are the real deal. A lesson Marshall will learn soon enough). I really haven't seen such misplaced arrogance in a fandom since our game in Denton against SMU.

I look forward to a healthy rivalry with all others. [/i]

Wrong, UNT is the one going avg. 10K per game. Why? No one in the Metroplex gives two ***** about UNT.

At least we aren't giving the entire chicken eating public free tickets to our games. Again, we EARN our attendance.

The only football program anyone in SA cares about lies 100 miles to your north and makes you wear their colors.

Build a stadium. Play a schedule. Win a game against an FCS program.

Great. Another UNT Truther upset at UTSA being invited the same time UNT is.

Yes, we fooled all the Presidents in the conference, and the ADs, and the other BORs, and Banowsky with a bucket of chicken. No one at any level figured it all out except you. Good job!

Go read the old threads about this. They are probably in the smack talk area (which is where this thread should be now).

Seriously?

I don't know what is funnier a UTSA fan already moderating a CUSA board or the 25% warning you gave me for a pretty harmless post.

RE: UTSA and UTEP fans...seriously....
For those UNT fans (and certain UTEP fans) that are talking smack about UTSA, maybe y'all should worry about yourself and not what anybody else is doing, whether it's UTSA or another school.

And furthermore, maybe instead of being pessimistic naysayer, maybe you should be a bit more optimistic about who C-USA invited to join. Yes, UTSA only had 1 season of football and is relatively young in the other athletic programs compared to other schools' athletic programs. But did y'all ever think that C-USA invited schools like UTSA based on potential and anticipated improvement? Yes, some are going to say that UTSA shouldn't have gotten an invite to the conference because we didn't earn it, but quite frankly, I can care less what people think about this. Just like many other UTSA fans have stated on this board, I'm not apologizing for us accepting to join C-USA.

This is about perspective. C-USA probably didn't use the exact same measuring stick that they use to evaluate the other schools, but they still evaluated us in some form, and IMO, they saw the potential about UTSA. They saw that we are upgrading our facilities (i.e the Park West Athletic Complex); it may take some time to see everything be completed but it's happening as we speak. In football, they probably saw the athletic program's dedication in improving the football program (note that it is a moot point to make statements about UTSA playing in the Alamodome and not building an on-campus stadium; not every FBS team plays in an on-campus stadium - look at UCLA, USF, Temple, Tulane, etc). So yes, I believe that C-USA invited us not only on what they saw what we currently had, but also on the potential that they saw in us. Perhaps they probably were thinking, "UTSA might struggle to compete with the other C-USA team in the 1st couple of years, but afterwards, due to their athletic department's dedication in improving UTSA Athletics, UTSA's sports will be able to compete with the other teams in the conference at a high level with the rest".

Now, for those that don't think that there is potential with UTSA's athletic programs, I can care less in what you think. Again, just worry about your school's sports and don't worry what UTSA is doing.

Again, just worry about your school's sports and don't worry what UTSA is doing.

blah, blah, blah... STFU

And furthermore, maybe instead of being pessimistic naysayer, maybe you should be a bit more optimistic about who C-USA invited to join. Yes, UTSA only had 1 season of football and is relatively young in the other athletic programs compared to other schools' athletic programs. Dude, what is your problem? My post is not meant to be an attack on anyone; I'm just trying to defend UTSA from ignorant and offensive comments from individuals such as yourself (no wonder threads end up on the CUSA Smack Talk sub-forum; people like you just rather turn things into a pissing match rather than contributing to the discussion intelligently). Therefore, I reported your post to the mods.

If you can't stand the heat, maybe your school isn't fit to join CUSA...
