WVU/Bama to open '14 Season

At Crimson Caravan, Nick Saban says 2014 Alabama season opener will be West Virginia in Atlanta. #Bama #WVU

WVU v. Alabama to kick off 2014 season is "in the works." Requires some juggling on WVU's end to make it official.

Towson, Maryland, ECU on the schedule now so it would probably be the ECU game going unless of course we're on a 2 division, 8 game format by then.

IF the deal becomes finalized. I haven't seen any report that the deal is final, just that they're working on it...

Here's some confirmation from the Alabama camp...

The latest info has the deal all but finalized...

WVU Working to Add Alabama to 2014 Slate
Quote:A neutral site game, part of the work needed to make it a reality includes dropping one of the Mountaineers' scheduled non-conference opponents. Late Wednesday, according to the Charleston Daily Mail, the decision was made that East Carolina would be the victim.
It sounds like WVU is cancelling the series with ECU. But I'm going to assume they're taking a one year hiatus on the series, until I hear otherwise...

RE: WVU/Bama to open '14 Season
Jackson, my only clear memories from the Nebraska game were those booming punts by Todd Sauerbrun. After his first 2 punts went for 90 and 75 yards, the entire stadium went silent when he walked on the field...

Unfortunately, that was the only positive thing for WVU that day, and Sauerbrun's yardage average dropped with every punt...
