Probably our best year in CUSA across the board
Seems like we're finally getting the hang of things in CUSA. We won a few volleyball championships in the beginning, but that's been it. This year we finish second in the East in football, make it to the NIT and the conference championship in basketball, and make it to the championship game in softball. Just have to start actually winning those games now.

RE: Probably our best year in CUSA across the board
I was on hand for the Conference softball tournament in Birmingham for the 1st 2 sessions. Had a tremendous time, really enjoyed the games, and how much fun Marshall's players, coaches and fans were having throughout the entire event, I'd never seen a team and fan base so loose and animated, and although I am disappointed at the outcome of the matchup between the Herd and the Blazers, it was still one of the most exciting and nerve-racking games of the tournament, as was every game from the 2nd game in session 2 (UAB - Memphis) on to the championship game. I would love to see all 3 teams get an NCAA berth, all have represented their schools and the conference extremely well this week, but regardless of how that turns out, I'll be rooting for the representative(s) of Conference USA.

Thank you, Marshall, for contributing to the festive and exciting atmosphere of the Conference USA softball tournament in Birmingham.

I was told not too long ago that Conference USA had 4 teams invited to the NCAA softball tournament. I was shocked to learn that Marshall wasn't one of them. I don't get it, the Herd was a top 4 seed, higher than that of UCF.

Made it to the finals, taking out the number two seed (UAB) in the process, has a winning record, and takes top-seeded Tulsa to the wire in the championship game. How in the world did Central Florida get in before Marshall? No disrespect intended, but they got bounced in the 1st round of the conference tournament. WTH?

I honestly don't pay any attention to our softball team, but it does sound really screwy that we didn't get into the tournament.
