UL/Jurich question...
Just curious guys... has TJ responded yet to the Katz report, that he told the conference that UL is looking to bolt? Not that I care whether or not Jurich did it (he's talked enough about the B-12 already), but it also wouldn't surprise me if Katz's "report" was just some sort of erroneous ESPN-style hatchet job.

RE: UL/Jurich question...
I believe Jurich said it or he would be have already released statement denying it.

Jim. we both know what Jurich has committed to. The question is does the Big 12 honor the agreement.

RE: UL/Jurich question...
Ok, I will assume we are #11 for the Big 12.
1) So who is 12?
2) Could their be a 13 and 12/ Why do I ask, because the Big 12 owns the naming rights to the Big 14 title.

I believe the Marinatto thing rubbed TJ the wrong way and now he's pulled the gloves off.

No.

I don't know if Katz has decent sources or not, but in an interview back in December or early January (can't remember which), Jurich pretty much said that UofL was looking around and that he was keeping everyone in the Big East informed. Here is the link with expansion talk starting around the 8:30 mark.
"Well [conference affiliation] is very important to us. It's probably the top thing on my agenda right now and something I will continue to work at. There's no secret...we've worked very hard to be attractive to many conferences but in particular the Big 12 Conference. The one thing I don't want to do Eric is do anything that would be a negative to the Big East because the Big East has been so good to us. [...] I want to make sure that as we do look, we want to be upfront with everybody and all parties involved. I've been very fluid with the commissioner and with Judy Genshaft, who is the president of USF who is the president of the executive council for our conference in the Big East. And I want to make sure that everybody knows that I'm not doing anything behind anybody's back."
So it wouldn't surprise me if Katz was accurate on this. What I think is getting misinterpreted is that Jurich made some sort of angry, “We want out,” statement. I think it makes more sense, in the absence of a full-time commissioner, that Jurich simply transferred the line of communication to the board of directors.

RE: UL/Jurich question...
Good answer UL grad. I think it was found that what TJ said MONTHS AGO is exactly what Katz was talking about. Katz made it sound like something new...

RE: UL/Jurich question...
It's always dead horse season on The BEast board. Don't you remember all the b!tching I did to get the original expansion board created? That allieviated a good bit of it, but never fully eliminated it...

RE: UL/Jurich question...
Jurich would be great as BE commish. But we would be losing our best AD ever. Jurich needs to be special advisor to the new commish. That way we keep him and he can run the Big East basically like a regent or something.
