Big XII & BYU
I know about all the chatter that has Louisville going to the Big XII. I also have heard the "rumors" that the Big XII could poach the ACC for FSU and Clemson.

Not much talk recently about BYU. I always thought that if the Big XII wanted to go back to 12 teams for a Conference Championship Game that BYU was a no brainer.

Is there any possibility of this happening? Is BYU now off the table for the Big XII?

Not dead, but others would have to say no.

From what I understand,

The Big XII wants all-sports - BYU is ok with that, but:
The Big XII wants Sunday play - BYU doesn't.
BYU wants to keep their TV deal - practically out of the question for the Big XII.

That's kind of where it ends for now. I've seen rumblings that BYU is looking again at the Big East.

BYU has had a habit of taking themselves out of the conversation.

That's about where I think it is, too.

The Big East is far more likely to give them most of what they want. The problem is, what they want is ridiculous. They will either get most of what they want and sign with the Big East or they will stay independent. The Big 12 doesnt need them enough to give them anything.

RE: Big XII & BYU
The TV rights are the only ridiculous thing that BYU wants. If it was only no-Sunday, they could get that. Asking the Big 12 for unlimited replay rights is just laughable, though. If ESPN and Fox let them have that, next in line would be UT and OU wanting replays to their football games and KU wanting replays to their basketball games.

Nope B12 moved it to Sat. night a few years ago. In the MWC & WAC for baseball we'd either play a double header on sat night or start the series a day early.

I don't think Sunday was ever an issue. It is a part of BYUs religious principles. It's not new. They have always said they would not play on Sunday. I can't imoagine anyone in the B12 had an issue with BYU not playing on Sunday.

Bob, from what I have read, I do not think the Sunday play is an issue, but agree the BYU TV deal is.

RE: Big XII & BYU
Everything I have read recently is that BYU is not under consideration. The Big 12 will move only east or not at all. I really don't think Sunday play was an issue. Everybody knew that going in.
