RE: OT Pirates
I was there in the left field bleachers. I pretty much thought the game was over after the blown save based on the batters due up in the bottom half. There was a glimmer of hope when Pressly made it to third on the two pass balls but that turned into a sense of impending doom when Navarro struck out.

It really was a great game. Burnett was masterful, striking out ten. The Barajas walk-off made it the second best game I have probably ever been to and I got to share it with my brother so that makes it that much more special.

RE: OT Pirates
Tough loss tonight. But taking another 2 outta 3 is success to me. Hopefully they can string out a nice winning streak soon. I'm confident they will at some point.

RE: OT Pirates
It's extremely tough to beat Strasburg. Add to that fact the reality that the Pirates strike out a ton and you've got a recipe for a tough outing. He struck out 7(!) Pirates in a row tonight. That's incredible stuff and of course he had help from the Pirates hitters being usual strikeout victims to begin with.

This was definitely a successful series, though. Any time you take 2 of 3 and win the series it's successful. We don't need sweeps - we just need to win series after series. In addition it was huge for Burnett to come in and be the stopper on Tuesday night. That's something this Pirates team has lacked in years past and not having a guy like that is how you end up with 10+ game losing streaks. Here's to hoping that doesn't occur this year.
