Constitutional Ban on GAY marriage passes. It is indeed a proud day for North Carolina.

What ever, are you saying another ACTIVIST judge will declare the duely ratified constitution of a state as "unconstitutional"? It is actually a win for religous freedom. The government has NO, NONE, ZERO business in defining marriage, but if ACTIVIST judges are going to legislate this is necessary.

One reason for marriage:

1) Religous doctorine


If gays want LEGAL recognition then the gubment needs to stop recognizing marriage and go with either civil unions or householding.

No. That would be a sad day for America IMO. A federal mandate on how each state has to handle something that doesn't have to do with making people more free and making something where nobody get's hurt illegal just cause you can? That's the definition of tyranny my friend.

We just made civil unions and householding illegal for gays and straights. I think that marriage has lost some of it's sanctity because it has to be done for benefits and convenience.

No true Conservative would have voted for this nonsense. I of course understand that to live free I must allow those around me to do the same as long as they follow the principle of non aggression. Sadly today's "Conservatives" have no problem using the force of government to intervene in others lives even though they preach that the government should not do so. Hypocrites?

Of course...I voted against this today...One of only 2 votes I cast in this useless election. One against this sillyness and one for Ron Paul.

I totally agree, except I'm not a North Carolinian. Huskie, I particularly like the "Conservatives lose out to Christians" comment. If this is conservative, then I'm no conservative.

The libs think repeating the LGBT talking points will make it more acceptable to the majority. NO, not even the death of older Americans will make it happen for them. The discussions on this board show that conservatives are more capable of guiding this country than the radial elements of social change.

If there is any consolation in this...it was not as much of landslide as I thought it would be. Those for this were out in droves at the polls. I give them credit for that. A guy handed me a slip and made his pitch as I came up to the polling place...I told him "Sorry man...I won't be voting for this....I think gays should suffer the same punishment of marriage as the rest of us." He actually laughed and shook his head.

No..It shows that today's conservative has no problem controlling the lives of others and yet they constantly preach that they don't support that view. It shows that today's conservative...is not a true conservative.

I hold no Ill will against these folks. They just are part of something that they do not understand in regard to its heritage. The term conservative should be stripped from today's GOP. It is not worthy of the moniker.
