If it is DDOS, that should be handled by the datacenter. Who is he with?

And it probably isn't him that is being DDOS'ed, it is somebody near him down the pipe at the datacenter.

Nothing official from Mac, but its probably another DNS issue.

I'm not positive GTS. I've emailed him but no response yet.

This may be off-the-wall and out of the question, but would it be possible to merge NinerNation.Net with our board here, similar to MT.org?

Would that better protect us from DNS attacks in the future? Or would it make no difference?

Hard to say without knowing where he is hosted. But the motivations for moving in and joining our merry band here at CSN should be deeper and more intrinsic than just DDOS or DNS issues.

FWIW, if we were really getting hammered something vicious, I could within a day or two have us deployed across multiple facilities with on demand scaling. It would suck and be unpleasant and greatly increase costs ... but I would prevail.

I agree with this. We wouldn't make a move over here just for hosting type issues.

I enjoy this board a great deal but NNN has been built going back to cusa-talk.

I plan to post and read here often from a conference standpoint. I want to develop some quality rivalries with fans here once we're fully in CUSA.

I think if there came a point where Mac just couldn't do it anymore we'd move here most likely full time. Not really merge the sites but just use this one. But I leave that decision up to Mac.

Shoutbox is very popular on NNN GTS. Tons of conversation goes on there. There's a full on chat room we use for away games, but for people just happening by the shoutbox is a fun way to have conversation for a few minutes.

The current it is tech wise means nothing.

I more or less meant sharing servers and linking this particular sub-form directly to NN.N, or some combination of the two. I guess sharing more than merging... I just think it would be worthwhile to have the activity here as opposed to an all-but-empty sub-forum.

Yeah, I'm not able to get on today. I'm about to go crazy.

Mac is aware of the issue and working on it. He had been planning some site upgrades for a while, and knowing him, he may just go ahead and implement them now. Might make for a little more down time. I'm sure he appreciates our patience.

I guess this is the NNN home away from home.
