We would be deeply displeased if that were the conference alignment. We would lose 2 of the 3 teams we actually care about playing in football, and our primary rival.

I don't. But something is obviously up considering the FSU Rivals page has a big piece on FSU's dissatisfaction with the ACC $$$.

I fall more into the camp that thinks this is a ploy to get more $$$ out of ESPN, but the fact that they might try this tactic would mean that negotiations are not going well at all.

Cheers,
Neil

Does anyone on this board have any ties with an ACC school? If so, please, PLEASE encourage them to reconsider going to North/South divisions NOW! If those divisions could be put into place for 2013, schools like FSU would (1) have lower travel costs, and (2) sell more tickets (because they'd be adding Georgia Tech, and because even UNC will sell more tickets in Tallahassee than Syracuse or BC). If there is ONE thing the ACC can do to try to salvage this, N/S divisions may be it.

At this point in the game changing the divisions would be a futile gesture. It should have been done back in 2005.

Time for FSU AD to comment?

Time for Swofford to comment on status of TV renegotiation?

Time for mainstream reporters to cover this story, which if true would certainly be the number one story out there, aside from the new BCS playoff?

Or perhaps, it's rumor time with certain fans trying to shape the debate.

Personally I think this is all BS. But its definitely a rumor that I'm paying a little more attention to since there was a Clemson and FSU blog out on the issue. I tend to think if this is true, that both are bluffing to force a better deal from ESPN. We def need a Conference Network.

"Repeat a lie often enough and it will believed"

When an actual legit news organization has something I'll believe it. but until then it's just a bunch of bloggers falling for the s*** that spews out of WVU fans' mouths.

Ditto. Losing Clemson & FSU would be a major blow to the ACC. I hope it doesn't come to that.

As an official repsentative of the Tobacco Road mafia, we accept your trade offer. Move UVa to the South in exchange for Miami.

Neil, I hope it is a ploy/bluff. And I hope ESPN blinks first. Otherwise they could be dealing with damaged goods and a damaged relationship with the ACC that might be beyond repair.

Hopefully the SEC, Pac12 and Big Ten all realize that if this goes down it will strengthen the Big12 considerably, and those conferences will take measures to prevent that from happening.

Otherwise John Swofford may go down in history as the last commissioner of the ACC... the man who killed the golden goose.

We were in a league without FSU before...we can do it again if we have to.

I don't want north/south divisions because we would play less in NC and they are the closest for travel and recruits

But if we are in a conference minus FSU & Clemson; how good a conference is it overall? The ACC as it is in it's present form must be preserved.

A conference minus FSU and Clemson............but adding Vanderbilt and Notre Dame=better!

1) Notre Dame isn't coming in my lifetime.
2) Vanderbilt doesn't help with the television contract and is hardly a decent replacement for either Clemson or FSU.
