The Big East is in charge, and the last I heard, they want BYU or Air Force for #14. I haven't seen a single credible report that the Big East has any inclination to add Fresno State or UNLV; the notion that they would do so to help out Boise State is all message board speculation. The question in my mind is, why would the Big East scramble to invite a school it doesn't want just so Boise State can put its Olympic sports in the Big West instead of the WAC-lite or the Big Sky? It's not as if there's any real danger of losing Boise State back to the MWC, since (as our Boise friends frequently remind us) the Big East TV contract will pay anywhere from $3 million to $8 million more per year than the MWC TV deal.
The WAC dying, or living w/o BSU kills AFA leaving for the BE. Other than that I agree. BYU I don't think will come because they think too much of themselves and if they ever cave it would be for a B12 invite. That leaves Fresno. It also leaves UNLV I guess, but that would really bring down the BE if they add a perennial bottom feeder.

If the WAC were defunct, Air Force could put Olympic sports in the Summit League. In that scenario Denver would probably already be there and would serve as an ideal travel partner.
Does AFA want to be in the Summit, is it good enough? If so they're a lock for #14. I know the they talked to the MVC and they said they want to stay at 10.

Playing premier competition in Olympic sports doesn't seem to be a key decision driver for Air Force. Otherwise they would have said yes to the Big 12. I'm guessing they'd be fine with Denver, the Dakota schools, UNO and UM-KC.

True but our less than friends SDSU would prefer UNLV. 1) it helps their basketball RPI 2) keeps them as the sole Cal State

You know all the CSUs have to vot e for each other right. Just like when SJSU comes up for a vote Fresno has to vote in favor. Fans don't = CA politics and school Prez. If UNLV goes it would be because the BE invited them and their Prez changed his mind.

That the key, MWC is the right balance for them B12 is too good for them Summit? Could be good enough, maybe it's not. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
