How will the Army/Navy game work?
The two teams typically play the Saturday after the conference championship games. If Navy is in the Big East, which will have a championship game, will they play this game the week after? Or do they move it up?

Sorry if this has been brought up before.

I think they'll be playing the same date as always.

Navy's agreement IIRC would have them maintaining the Army game on that same Saturday. If Navy were to play in the BE CCG, it would play that game Dec. 1 and then the Army/Navy Game Dec. 8. Since Army is not in the BE, that game would not have any bearing on the BE CCG.

RE: How will the Army/Navy game work?
The only problem I see would be if Navy finishes in a tie for the Big East Eastern Championship. Lets say Louisville finishes 10-2 and 7-1 in the conference. And Navy is 9-2 and 7-1 in the conference and has the Army game later. They would obviously go to who beat who between Louisville and Navy.
The game itself is not the problem. The problem is if Navy wins the Big East after beating Houston or Boise State in the championship and then turns around and gets whipped by Army. That would look bad for the Big East.

I think folks would treat that scenario no where near as harshly as one would think. It's a rivalry game.

I guess it could work Labor Day week-end to kickoff the season.

It will never be an issue because Navy will not win many Big East Football Chamoionships! 07-coffee3

No, the Army-Navy game should stay exactly where it is. That game is for my money easily the very best rivalry in all of sports and as such it is a natural treasure that should not be fooled with in any way. For the past few years it has always been played on the weekend following the conference championship games and it will - and should - stay in that prestigious slot.

My biggest concern with Navy is that they will hold up the conference from going to nine conference games.

I agree, Wilkie. Navy's offense works fine, if you only see it once in a blue moon. But for teams that see their offense annually, it isn't a surprise. Navy can't recruit the same level of talent because of the military's physical limitations on size...

Please don't bring up David Robinson. When he was recruited by Navy, he fit their height limitation of 6'7". But he grew another 7 inches in college...
