What evidence do you have that the union had anything to do with the teacher keeping a job?

From what I understand she was transferred and not fired because of her tenure. Isn't tenure a Union clause?

Sorry IMATY, but "from what I understand" does not constitute what we in the practical realm call "evidence."

Because she's a tenured member of the NJ teachers union and I'm smart enough to tie my shoes...

BTW tom... When the sun comes up in the morning it's going to be in the east again.... please keep that one under your hat ok

For crying out loud Tom I saw it on GMA this morning I think. They said she was moved and not fired because she had tenure. Is that a Union provision or not? I was just asking a question. Cranky old POS.

So, no teacher in a union can ever be fired. Check!

http://madvilletimes.com/2012/04/teacher...ing-rates/

Sorry...I was asking if you had something tangible as to why the teacher was re-assigned and not fired.

Incidentally based on that article alone, I would want here gone too. But I don't have all the information on the case and it doesn't appear you guys do either.

Maybe I'm rushing to judgment here but the only reason I need to want her fired is what was RECORDED and played on the news. This isn't hearsay...it was recorded.

There is an audio recording of the incident... she needs to be gone.

If this we the teacher's first incident then the teacher would likely be put on administrative leave, asked to go through some sort of training and possibly moved to another school.

It shouldn't be any different for teachers than it is for people in other work places.

I know of few workplaces where you would get a second chance to repeat this incident!

Come in late, miss a deadline... yea sure give em' the talk. But tell off a client? goodbye!

I'm going to respectfully disagree. Everyone deserves a second chance and everyone has a bad day. No one should get fired for one verbal mis step.

Calling your autistic a bastard kind of crosses that line... And keep in mind the reason that the father was even recording this is because he had reason to suspect something was going on!..

The only point I'm making here is to not rush to a judgment that it's only union tenure keeping her employed when we don't have all the facts...that's all.
