Wink Relocating to Washington D.C. area - Tiger fans?
Seems to be few others that are moving for jobs so congrats to all the them!

I too am moving for a new job up to the DC area. I'll be out in the Ashburn, VA. I know I've seen a few on here but can't remember who is in the area.

Will definitely make any Tiger v. Georgetown games plus the BE Tourney is a more feasible trip!

I haven't lived there but had a few job offers in the DC area a while back... the cost of living really scared me considering the wage I was going to get paid. Housing market still really high there?

Yeah you definitely have to be careful taking a job up there with the cost of living being so much higher. Thankfully my new job made made me an offer I could not refuse. Have not really looked into the home market because we are only looking to rent right now but I have some family up there and they say you can get some deals because the market got hit there just like everywhere else.

Maybe you can rent a room from the guy in the big white house on Pennsylvania Avenue. OTOH, I hear that he may be moving out soon, so if you can hold off until January, there may be a new landlord up there.

D.C. is a fun time. I lived in North Besthesda, MD for a little while. Great social town. Hit up Adams Morgan. Also, if you are a baseball fan, you have to make the trip to Camden Yards. It's like a piece of baseball history you can interact with. Stay out of the Green and Yellow lines that go past the Anacostia River.

Thanks some useful input instead of posting things that are going to get the thread moved to the Political board.
