Oh, i have no problem admitting that. Many around here do, though.

Most of us for years have bashed the leadership in Providence. The funny thing is Tranghese gave Swofford the "Blueprint/idea" back in the late 90s when he purposed that they maybe should do a merger.
Well, if you look at it the ACC did do a "merger" but on their own terms...lol

We got raided out of the blue by the ACC in 2003, so fool us once and shame on them. But we should never have gotten blind-sided again. That was just ridiculous.

Steve, the first ACC raid wasn't out of the blue. There had been signs for some time. WVU, Pitt, and Rutgers all warned the conference leadership, and those warnings went unheeded...

Why did the Big East decide to reject the deal unless we thought we would get MORE? What fear and uncertainty would be associated with that?
Man you are thick. FEAR and UNCERTAINTY of another BE school taking their invite if they rejected the ACC. Do you understand that?
If the Big East was just offered and turned down as much/more money than the ACC was getting, why would SYR and PITT fear anyone else jumping ship to the ACC? Why would ANY Big East team want to jump to less money with the ACC?
Your argument holds no water at all.
You really are getting annoying because you can't understand common sense. Let me put it in simple BABY terms so you can understand:
1. No deal was signed so any BE team could leave and damage any future deal. If they leave, BE's inventory is weaken and could affect the new deal. Is this that difficult to understand?
2. ACC put Pitt and CUSE under the gun where they have 24 hours to accept the invite. If they don't, ACC will go with other BE team(s). Do you not see FEAR and UNCERTAINTY in this when no teams in the BE trusted each other?
Just remember if BE gets $10M+ per team, you better do your part and stop pretending to be a BE fan. You should just put troll next to your user name.

Husky, no matter how you state it, your scenario makes NO sense. Why on earth would Big East teams, ANY OF THEM, that just TURNED DOWN a BETTER DEAL THAN THE ACC HAD from ESPN just months before, meaning they thought an EVEN BETTER DEAL COULD BE HAD, would leave for that same ACC?
It HAD to be because of stability and prestige issues. NO FEAR COULD POSSIBLY BE INVOLVED. Good Grief!

Ok, I give up. Once you go into your stone age dinosaur mode, there is no convincing you. Good luck with your spin on everything. Just remember if BE lands a deal that pays more than $10M per team, you know what you have to do.
