This has been breaking over the last day or so. It appears to be true. He's always had a problem but if he's showing up drunk at coaches' clinics it's worse than he or WVU wants to let on.

I have heard similar stories from UC basketball camps and clinics years ago...somethings never change.

Maybe he was already starting to realize how much tougher it will be in future years to recruit HS players from the NYC, Philly and DC area to play most conf games in Iowa, Kansas, & Oklahoma, etc...and that he can't promise any future recruit GAMES played in Madison Square Garden.

Or....he wanted to finally "get back" at that bathroom door that give him not ONE black eye, but two.

We live in an era where a few twitter handles nobody has ever heard of are reliable sources.

Really.

I've downed at least 5,000 beers in my life but my gut isn't even 1/3 that big!

How is Bobby going to be their best customer when the entire city of Morgantown is down at Kegler's buying him beers?

The city of Morgantown might want to consider buying him coffee or a diet soda. I like Huggins, always have and I certainly appreciate everything he did for Cincinnati basketball. That being said the man has a drinking problem and given his history it's not hard to believe that this story is true. Doesn't make him a bad person or bad coach but it does make you wonder what it is going to take to make him recognize it given he already has the DUI and the humiliating video that went with it as well as the heart attack. At some point I hope he recognizes the damage that it has done and continues to do to his reputation and health and gets it under control.

RE: Huggins drunk at coach's clinic?
I should point out that for the majority of the fanbase, Bob Huggins is by far the most popular visiting coach to play regularly at Louisville. Dick Fick would win hands down, but they did not play here regularly. Huggy Bear is the guy we all loved to hate. But he was very popular here in Louisville in that regard. Probably because this is a drinking town.

There IS reason Miami fans call him Chuggy Bear. And, my boss who used to work in College Basketball always says when I bring Chuggy's name up that that coach really could drink a lot!

I think you're barking up the wrong tree, dude. Huggins is who he is, and he won't ever change...

Those of us who have experience drinking realize that once in a while you drink too much. But for folks in the public eye, like Huggins, all he needs is one drunken episode each year to make people think that's all he does. How many of you have been drunk in the past year? How would the folks around you react if every time you got drunk it was plastered all over the news, like it is for Huggins? Give me a break...

I still like Huggy...He probably doesn't get much drinking time so its hard for him to control it when he does do it. He's alot meaner when he's sober.

Some do and CAN change (i.e. Larry Eustachy)...some later than others but one is NEVER too old to change. (Personally, had one relative in his 70's, raging alcoholic, after going to AA (still going to this day), person is sober as a twig...and his MD says that probably saved his life.

Point is...Huggy CAN change...and he might.

Never give up hope.
