RE: Tiger game thread
Scherzer blows so far this year and the fielding is comically bad. Going into yesterday's game, the Tigers were 29th in turning balls in play into outs at 67.7%. 15th in the league is 71.5% and Toronto leads at 76.5%.

RE: Tiger game thread
Delmon Young is hitting .267 and has struck out 15 times in 60 at bats...with only 2 walks.

Austin Jackson is hitting .258 and has struck out 17 times in 66 at bats.

Jhonny Peralta is hitting .246 and has struck out 13 times in 57 at bats...with only 3 walks.

Alex Avila is hitting .244 and has struck out 13 times in 45 at bats.

Brennan Boesch is hitting .211 and has struck out 14 times in 71 at bats...with only 1 walk. I don't expect him to get walked hitting in front of Cabrera and Fielder...but hitting .211 is flipping horrible.

Ramon Santiago is hitting .154 and has struck out 6 times in 26 at bats.

Brandon Inge is hitting .100 and has stuck out 6 times in 20 at bats. Only 2 hits on the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ryan Raburn is hitting .091 and has struck out 9 times in 44 at bats.

Our hitters stink right now. I've had enough Inge and Raburn BS to last me the whole season. Package both of them to a NL team like Houston, get a prospect or two in return, and eat the money! I'd rather see an overmatched rookie that belongs in AA get a shot.

Max Sherzer has pitched 19.2 innings, given up 30 hits and a total of 18 earned runs. ERA = 8.24

Rick Porcello has pitched 15.2 innings, given up 22 hits and a total of 11 earned runs. ERA = 6.32 In all fairness, he got smoked really bad in his last start, which skews his numbers a bit.

Jose Valverde has pitched 8.2 innings and his WHIP is 1.62.

Joaquin Benoit has pitched 7.1 innings and his WHIP is 2.32!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our pitching is getting rocked and our hitters stink. I fully expect them to improve after their road trip to Seattle and New York this weekend. The month of May has us playing 26 games against the Royals, White Sox, Mariners, A's, Twins, Pirates and Indians. All of those teams SHOULD finish below .500, or possibly slightly above (White Sox or Indians). If we can't separate ourselves by June 1, it's gonna be a long and stressful summer.

Dumb....just plain dumb.

4 am outside the Hilton. Glad he was worried about getting enough rest for the game today.

Unbelievable.

You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball.

We can't seem to do all three right now.

RE: Tiger game thread
As a huge Tigers fan I am extremely frustrated right now. Thank god its only April and there is still plenty of season left. I think we can right the ship and still run away with the division. We have had a really tough schedule so far and have run into a storm of good starting pitching. I am know it might seem like I am spinning this but I don't think we are seeing a repeat of 2008. Once Fister comes back I think we will be fine.

RE: Tiger game thread
Running into good starting pitching isn't the problem. The starters not going 5 innings and getting us in a 3-0 hole is the problem.

RE: Tiger game thread
Looking forward to the PitchFX for today's game. Scherzer's strike zone was about half the size of Sabathia's.

RE: Tiger game thread
....well i'd say my wishes were met. Rick had a solid outing and the bats finally came back to life. G/f's parents made the tickets my early birthday present, so we got to sit in MUCH better seats than we would have normally

Nice seats. Were you the guy with the neon "Inge Sucks" shirt behind home plate?

RE: Tiger game thread
Benoit is struggling. Two hits in the 9th and gave up the go-ahead/winning run.

Verlander goes 8 innings, throws 123 pitches, gives up 6 hits, 1 BB, and 2 earned runs....and has nothing to show for it....again.

These guys need to wake up in a hurry.

RE: Tiger game thread
even with our pitching, our lineup should be generating far more offense than it is.
