That's it? 6 years for $6.24 million? Is that just for football, or all sports?

Just saw that it is all sports.

Pretty sure that is considered a lot. Even for all-sports. And yeah, this is for all sports.

I think it is a little below average, especially for a program that has been as successful the last few years as Boise St. has been. Compared to PAC-12 Nike schools, it is on par with Arizona and the only programs with smaller contracts are Oregon St. and Cal. Cincinnati's all sport deal with adidas that was signed in 2008 and is up this summer was 4 years and $11.5 million.

If it is just 6 years for $6.24M, it does seem kind of low. If it is $6.24M per year, then it is a great deal.

UCONN signed with Nike back in 2008 for $45.5M for 10 years or $4.55M per year just from Nike. I believe it was one of the biggest deals back then.

The Hartford Courant reports that UConn and Nike have reached a 10-year, $45.5 million contract for exclusive sponsorship rights. The deal is “believed to be one of the biggest in the country.”

In addition, UCONN gets close to $8M per year from IMG for managing UCONN's local media rights. Those deals are outside what UCONN gets from the BE for the TV deal.

It's 6 years for 6.24 mil.

Kind of strange in that this year that is almost over got upped from 280k to 850k. Next year 850k as well. Next 2 years 1 mil. Last 2 years 1.15 mil.

In the story- Memphis gets 1.5 million per year. Deal up in 2013.

Not really, Boise State's old Nike contract was worth just $280,000 per year.

With not much basketball/olympic sports exposure...getting $1 Million per year just for football...and seeing your rights jump 4 times...that's not too shabby.

Didn't know that about Memphis, and we have a lot of big boosters with strong ties with Nike. I expect our new contract to improve drastically especially if our football teams wins a couple games and shows improvement.

The equipment managers were extremely happy the day UC left Nike for adidas. They have been very happy with the service they get from adidas.

This.

This is a significant step forward for the Boise program. Sure, it should be more, but it is most definitely trending in the right direction.

Go Broncos!!! 04-rock

At UCF, it was the total opposite...as Adidas did squat for UCF and Nike has stepped up in major ways, many of them behind the scenes...a lot more "in kind support", etc...

Usually the "new girlfriend" is prettier than the old one (i.e. new company will always do more than the old).

It is 4x your old deal, so that is a good deal for you. Add 700k per year to the extra 6+mil raise you get by being BE fb member and the school is going to get a nice windfall.

Yep. Next time around, hopefully it will be a lot more. But for Boise? It's a fantastic deal. We're getting there.

To expand on what somebody mentioned earlier, I think the reason for our low figure is that our other sports will have zero exposure in the WAC. If those PAC-12 comparisions are accurate, than I think being on par with Arizona is about right. The PAC-12 has great potential in all sports and will for sure get much more exposure than the WAC, so it all balances out in the end. If you look at it as $1 mil for football only, which it pretty much is, than that's not bad at all.

One other note .. Boise State will get another $75,000/year from Nike once they join the Big East. The NBE is providing BSU with some nice bennys!
