Question for anyone who was there today: Rate offensive and defensive units on a 1-10 scale.

Somebody can take a crack at this but it's just really difficult when you have 1st team O vs. 2nd team D and vice versa so often.

RE: Spring game today!
With only one running back it makes it tough to judge.
Cubit 8 if he really sticks to running, I like the no huddle and shifting using 1 TE and 1 RB from 5 wide to ace to I.
New DC-7 if he will stop dropping 8 on third and long would be better but I like that hazel played more DE, 4-2-5 with athletes playing the rover is a good defense for our league. Showed some cover 3 out of it and you can tell we have studied TCU because we are using some of their coverage packages.
Secondary 9
Carder 7
TVT-6 because of his running, shook off the poor half
Monette 9
Hazel 9
89 really impressed me
Scriven 6 would be an 8 if he could catch
Oline 6
Dline 7
Lbs 6
Other wr 4
Flenard goto south america and play basketball

Overall a positive day IMO. But Spring Games should always be positive going into the summer. We need some people to get healthy and stay healthy to know how good we really are.

RE: Spring game today!
Hazel looks a lot better at DE.

I've never seen Scriven run the ball other than our goal line Maryland I, which I can't stand most of the time. I liked the way he ran today. But since they were playing against a third or fourth string defense and there were no other running backs to judge him against...it's tough to say he did great.

Monette catches most everything thrown at him. I'd be shocked if anyone overtakes him as our #1 guy.

We need speed at WR. Keith looked good, but again, it's not like Toler was matched up with him. Monette, Keith and Shafer can be a solid punch...but it would be really nice if we had a playmaker incoming.

Here is the thing with Flen, he basically catches anything thrown his way...and then promptly coughs it up when he gets hit. I was fairly certain his knee was down on his second fumble, but there's no excuse to let go of the ball. He doesn't know all the plays yet. I do think he can be a good threat at TE if they can figure out how to make sure he hangs onto the ball. He gets a free pass in my book because he was still playing bball 5weeks ago and hasn't played football in over four years. I suspect one of two things will happen. 1. He gets a bball offer in Europe or 2. They work the crap out of him over the summer and fall to see if he can make a difference. I would have liked to see him out there more today.

#89 the TE looked real good, as kimbo mentioned.

TVT had a rough go, but considering he didn't have the benefit of playing exclusively with the first string, it's tough to be negative.

This was my first spring game, I was pleasantly happy about the fan turnout.

I'm looking forward to the Illinois game...

89 is Eric Boyden. He is a R-Fr from New Jersey. He had some a pretty good highlight tape coming out of HS.

He looks darn good. I'm fired up about his next four years.

I have seen Boyden twice now, I will remember his name now without a program, he looks to be a sheffler type player. Catches the ball, runs well, blocks ok from what I have seen so far. He will be 2nd on the fall depth chart as a redshirt frosh.
