RE: What if the next western team added isn’t a western team at all?????
This is just my humble opinion and nothing more.

I believe in the near future, the following teams will be added to the nBe; AirForce, BYU and Fresno as with these three they solidify their western Division and Secure enough quality games in all time zones. You see, we need a second mountain state team and a second west coast team. Once they are added with their combined schedules, they have enough games to make a splash in all time zones. As it stands now, they are heavy in the eastern and central time zones but light there after.

Just my rambling thoughts. 03-shhhh

As posted in another thread, I am really starting to think 16 will be unavoidable eventually, because 12 and 14 create too many other problems.

BIG EAST ATLANTIC (2013 & 2014)
UConn \ Rutgers
Temple
Cincinnati \ Louisville
USF \ UCF

BIG EAST PACIFIC (2013 & 2014)
Memphis \ Boise State
Houston \ SMU
SDSU \ Fresno State

BIG EAST ATLANTIC (2015 - 2018)
UConn \ Rutgers
Temple
Cincinnati \ Louisville
USF \ UCF

BIG EAST PACIFIC (2015 - 2018)
Navy \ Memphis
Houston \ SMU
Boise State
SDSU \ Fresno State

BIG EAST ATLANTIC (AS OF 2019)
UConn \ Rutgers
Temple \ Memphis
Cincinnati \ Louisville
USF \ UCF

BIG EAST PACIFIC (AS OF 2019)
Navy \ Air Force
Houston \ SMU
Boise State \ BYU
SDSU \ Fresno State

This ensures that, as of 2019, the West teams will only have to make one trip East per year, alternating Navy with one cross-division opponent.

You will see L'Ville and BYU in the B-12 before you will see the BE with 16 FB teams so you might as well drop back to a 14 team FB conference tops right now.

The Big East should go after UMass and Army.

And if it does, the 2013 newbies should just leave the conference and create their own new one.

If that is what happens, I wouldn't blame you a bit 03-lmfao But, never take David Krysakowski seriously. He's been throwing outlandish conference realignment crap against the wall as long as he's been here.

I'm actually surprised the Alliance hasn't relentlessly pursued Army and UMASS. Perhaps they have, but those are two programs that could certainly help their bottom line.

Pretty sure that if Army was willing to change their mind....they would be accepted in short order. The BE would love to OWN both sides of the Army Navy game.

That said.....UMass is not part of the equation and if Army were to come on board....you would probably see something like USF and UCF shipped out West with the divisions being a NorthEast/ Everywhere else setup.

You will see L'Ville and BYU in the B-12 before you will see the BE with 16 FB teams so you might as well drop back to a 14 team FB conference tops right now.

First of all, the Big 12 has to actually want Louisville and BYU, which they are showing no indication of at this point in time, and those two schools can't just invite themselves, no matter how much their fans wish they could do so. Second, fine, dropping to 14 would be simple once these 16 are in place and make a lot more sense than what appears to be developing right now.

Alternatively, by the time the Big 12 ever gets around to adding Louisville, it might be 2020. At some point in the future, UMass and Villanova might get ready to move up and take their places, so you stay at 16 anyway. I doubt 16 is on the radar of Big East officials right now, but perhaps it should be, because the course they are currently following is full of problems anyway.
