NCAA heading down the wrong path
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/wr...=cb_bf3_a3
As if we needed another reminder where our mid major allegience falls on the totem pole of college athletics.
It's tough for me to comprehend how schools with 100 million dollar athletic budgets can complain about sharing.

The big boys increase their budgets because their revenue has been growing...and now they have a problem sharing.
My distaste for BCS schools keeps growing every day. (sorry Whinny, I know you love Iowa)

I rarely watch BCS related revenue sports on tv for all of these reasons.

Yes, I do. Always and forever! Sixty-some years of being a Hawkeye fan, and that won't change. She's my alma mater, you know.
Although in many respects, my Hawkeyes are among the "have nots" in the BCS. We do have a legion of superfans who are willing to support our football program, and they do it often. (Even those of us on fixed income.) A small, rural state with a total population of about 3 million, and no real metropolitan areas other than Des Moines, has to depend on the faithfulness of its fans to keep our athletic programs afloat.
Unfortunately, all BCS schools tend to get painted with the same broad brush in this kind of situation. It's not fair, but it is what it is.

It's hard to imagine that a state that produced a man like Bob Feller would be anything but on the up and up.

Welcome to rampant capitalism where the rich make the rules for themselves: heads they win, tails you lose. It's the golden rule: He who has the gold makes the rules.
