I never said Marshall has a bad football program in terms of wins! But i went to the Motor City Bowl and witnessed there totally classless fans, first hand! Go ahead and defend you mid-major buddies! Just another thing for a Card fan to remember about Memphis! 03-puke

Ole Miss fans tried to pull BCS rank on us before the game this year. Afterwards, they didn't say a lot about it.

My problem is with the part of your post regarding Marshall fitting right in with a southern conference.  Los Angleles, Cincinnati and Boston have more racial problems that the South.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Cincinnati has some serious racial problems, but I think you're exaggerating big time. I mean REALLY big time. People can bring up the racial riots, and I can bring up things that run DEEPER then that in the South. Trust me. Not saying one is as bad as the other, but people are living in a dream world if they think that Cincinnati, LA and Boston have more racial problems then the South. Those city's racial problems are more publicized because they're big T.V. and media markets.

Sweet Jesus. A MU drags up an improper recruitment of a Louisville volleyball player as part of his defense for one of the most renegade athletic programs in the history of college athletics. When does MU basketball and football get off their respective probations? As for MU owning Louisville consider that an asterix should be by those 2 wins because they occured as a result of cheating.

well said. People tend to forget how Marshall accomplished all their success.

Personally, I don't give a damn about Marshall or West Virginia. However, I do find it amusing that Louisville fans are so pro-WVA and so anti-Marshall. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that Marshall owns them. [/QUOTE]
3601,
Oh you'll soon give a damn when Marshall is in the same conference with you. After a year or two Memphis fans will be begging to get away from them. My first and only experience with Marshall fans was at the Motor City Bowl. A sad bunch of drunk folks. They throw beer, spit at the opponents fans, yell racial slurs, just about anything you could expect from a classless bunch. But hey, you'll find out soon enough.
My attitude has nothing to do with the games played on the field. Football has little to do with it when you fear for your safety because some idiot brings his gun to a football game. I cite this because security at the Silver Dome in Pontiac escorted a Marshall fan, setting a few rows away, who was waving his gun around, during the game out the door. What kind of idiot brings a pistol to a football game? This was before 9/11 so the security at the games wasn't as good as it is now.
BTW Louisville owns a 10-4 series lead on Marshall. We have beat them 5 out of 6 in Louisville and in Huntington. Marshall has won both games at neutral sites. Funny thing Louisville fans have all the respect in the world for TCU and we have NEVER beat them. Again I say you'll soon find out on your own. Then you will see what WVU fans mean about Marshall, just like Louisville fans have found out.

WVU fans don't know the first thing about Marshall. They played us one time, at their house, so what do they know about anything. I get the feeling you don't know the first thing either, all the negative talk and I have never seen us mistreat anyone other than miami and toledo. If stupid people like you like to make a big deal out of a minor mistake that the Coach made, then it does not say much about your character, geez. For goodness sake, he was trying to make a compliment. You can call me a mandigo any day of the week, I would take it as a compliment because I actually know what it means. Get a job CJ and the rest of you, you have too much time to gripe about stupid stuff. If you have a job, maybe you should pay a little more attention to it.

LOL WVU fans know all about Moo-U and their fans and their WVU obsession. I'd be amused if it wasn't so frankly pathetic. Good start to the season, BTW.

NOTE OF CAUTION for the new Big East fans travelling to Morganhole. Be sure to wear your hard hat for protection from those flying trash cans. Also be careful where you park

Herd Fan,
I have seen how Marshall fans treat the fans of teams they are playing, first hand. You obviously know that it goes on because you list Toledo and Miami as being the only schools you mistreat. Is that suppose to be OK? The more I see about Marshall fans, the more I am convinced everything WVU fans say about them is true.

Huh, how do you figure that? First, there's no debating that currently, as a program, UofL is further along in having sustained success and bowls. That's close to a necessity, you just don't get great in one year.

As well, fair or not, UofL is joining a league next year that if they won, they are in a BCS bowl. Memphis will have to go undefeated next year or any other year to even have a chance. I think you could find plenty of people to take that bet if you were wanting!
