PJCS seats/field to be replaced among other requests!
I am attaching the link for upgrades for 2012 to 2014. I find this one expenditure very interesting, $1,000,000 - Replace 103,104 sq ft of artifical turf at PJCS.

Inside the Ville source link

Anyway this is a lot of prepping for 2012 to 2014.

1) $16,228,000 - Athletic Academic Support facility 46,200 sq ft. Is this what is going under the crunch zone?
2)$16,119,000 - Construct a 3,500 seat soccer stadium, practice fields and a 1,500 car parking lot
3) $5,000,000 - Replace 42,000 seats in the original portions of PJCS
4) $5,000,000 - Purchase Floyd St land for future athletic facilities
5) $4,573,000 - Expand Patterson baseball stadium by 2,000
6) $4,430,000 - Purchase Chevron property ???west side of campus, demolish buildings, add 1240 car prk lot
7)$3,500,000 - Improve Floyd St corridor "in manner similar to along Eastern Pkwy"
8) $2,600,000 - Ulmer softball stadium expansion adding a terrace, expand pressbox and add lockerrooms
9) $1,950,000 - Improvements along 3rd St
10) $1,000,000 - Replace 103,104 sq ft of artifical turf at PJCS
11) $1,000,000 - Soccer stadium video boards
12) $865,000 - Purchase 100,000 sq ft of artificial turf to an outdoor practice field
13) $700,000 - Resurface the track and cardio path at Cardinal Park
14) $254,000 - Construct intramural field, a 6-field complex and integrated cardio path

Huh... so replacing field turf costs about $1 million bucks? Noted for Nippert.

Does it really cost $125 to replace each seat? For that kind of jack they could get each of us a cheap lazyboy to sit on.

I am sure that the head of the Chemistry Department at UofL is thrilled.

Definitely. Of course chemistry didn't generate the revenue that's paying for the above. YUM money allows UofL to replace the remaining 40,000 original seats (2k already torn out during construction) that have been pink for years now. Some fading of red seats in the sun constantly is normal, but I hope they go with another company or an improved version.

A little dated but nothing has really changed. Plenty of Academic projects on the list...and this is a 25 year plan...we might actually be ahead of schedule. With the 33 acres of the KY Trailer Company green lit to be torn down.

Other projects on the short list include:

Expansion and renovation of the Life Sciences Building, $57.7 million
Renovation of the Natural Sciences Building, $20.4 million
Purchase of the Chevron property northwest of campus, cost to be determined
Improvements to the campus core, including development of two plaza areas, $5.7 million
Development of a "Century Corridor" that connects many of the historic structures on campus, $890,000
Expansion and renovation of the Swain Student Activities Center, $18 million
Construction of an East Side Welcome Center and Warnock Street improvements, $3.9 million
Construction of a student recreation building and services center on the west side of campus, $37.5 million
Private development of the Masterson's property into a "college town" residential and retail center
Construction of a 5,000-seat soccer stadium and complex, $26.6 million
Additional parking near Jim Patterson Stadium, $930,000

a $3 million addition to the College of Business building; relocation of the Disabilities Resources Center and Campus Health Services (cost to be determined); and beautification and safety improvements in Stansbury Park and Freedom Park ($15.6 million) and along Floyd Street ($3.1 million).

Where do those 42,000 seats go? Maybe Georgetown can buy some for its never-finished football field (and repaint them).

Should go to the season ticket holders that paid the license fees on them.great additions to Den or patio area for sports theme decor. But probably to eBay or dumpster. Like the donation idea to needed program also.sure someone could use them.
