NIU's script flips with Harnish gone
Northern Illinois second-year coach Dave Doeren won't have the luxury of a veteran quarterback backed by an experienced offensive line.
Last year, senior quarterback Chandler Harnish and the offensive line helped lead the Huskies to an historic season that ended with the nation's longest winning streak of nine games with a victory in the 2012 GoDaddy.com Bowl game.
The Huskies won 11 games and the 2011 Mid-American Conference title game in Detroit. Harnish broke several school records as the driving force behind an offensive machine that was one of the best in the country. The Huskies opened their spring practice on March 28, but Doeren admitted that the 2012 team will look different than last year's version.

Not to belabor the point or anything, I'm just curious, but has anyone seen any articles about the MAC from the Tribune, Sun Times, or even Daily Herald?

Yea, it could be that we're not world class anymore.

That's the second time (at least) that I've seen a "world class" dig at the expense of Phillips. Please enlighten.
EDIT: Quick search turned up this:
http://espn.go.com/chicago/ncf/story/_/i...-year-deal
Could that be it?

He always talked about wanting to make NIU a world class institution. I believe he said the same thing about NU when he went there.

I listened to part of Phillips' press conference when he arrived at NU. He definitely used the phrase "world class" several times.
We also refer to Phillips as WCE ( World Class Experience)!

He's a regular Willie Gault.
- Jim " Speedy Willie" Phillips
- Jim " Speedy" Phillips
- " Speedy Jimmie" Phillips
EDIT: Jim " Chocolate Swirl" Phillips
Willie Gault
"This is Speedy Willie, and I'm world class.
I like runnin' but i love to get the pass.
I practice all day and dance all night,
I got to get ready for the Sunday fight.
Now I'm as smooth as a chocolate swirl,
I dance a little funky, so watch me girl.
There's not one here that does it like me,
My Super Bowl Shuffle will set you free. "

Willie Gault had Hall of Fame skills, but he was too concerned about his looks and his post-NFL acting career (a bust) to even be considered a Bears HOFer.

That's a pretty graphic point.
