MyBB CUSA Basketball Tournament
A few weeks ago I sent emails to Mayor William Bell, Councilman Austin, and the Alabama Sports Foundation regarding the 2012 CUSA basketball Tournament. I know others have sent emails and letters, as well.

Today, I got this return email from Councilman Austin's representative:

"Thank you for your email. Councilor Austin and his office will be working on this. Thank you for the update."

Hopefully this is not a canned response and efforts are actually being made.

RE: CUSA Basketball Tournament
Sounds like and looks like a canned response. How can you update them on the CUSA Tournament?

Easy to make it not a canned response.

Thank you for your email on Birmingham and UAB hosting the 2012 CUSA Basketball Tournament . Councilor Austin and his office will be working on bringing the 2012 CUSA Basketball Tournament to Birmingham . Thank you for the support on this issue .

At least you got a response. I sent them both a letter over a month ago, nada...IMO, they've got their heads stuck up the SEC's *** ...

03-lmfao That's a strong possibility! While I'm at it, I'll email AD Mackin and ask him if UAB's on the same page with Bell and Austin on bidding for the CUSA tournament, enough time's been wasted on non-action about this.

They very well could be blowing people off when questions like this come up to them, it's the same vibe I've gotten before whenever inquiries about the SEC HQ farce & why it's so damn difficult for the city to blow Legion Field to smithereens & build a new football stadium somewhere closer to the downtown area if UAB is forbidden to have one of its' own on campus?

Can't help but wonder why they're holding out for the dome. The longer that takes, the tougher it is for them to ever get the damn thing off the ground.

RE: CUSA Basketball Tournament
The tournament is going to be awarded in about three weeks. I seriously doubt if we don't already have a bid in that we are going to have one ready by the first of May when the tournament is usually announced.

Face it. There is no interest in bringing it to Birmingham. It is a money loser and that is something that is not popular these days.
