For some reason this season has seen a rash of transfers throughout college basketball. With the "win now" attitude alot of these players will end up at D2 programs as many teams cannot afford to hold scholarships.

BTW, Ennis from Rice is a big loss for them too. Quality Fr PG.

I wonder if Haase recruited any of these guys originally? We might have a shot at a couple of guys who have underachieved for a year or two who could really thrive in our conference/system. A couple of experienced transfers with our core group of guys going into their junior seasons may make us really formidable in 2 years.

Yep. Transfers. That's what we need. Why didn't Mike Davis think of that?

Just guessing, but I don't think Haase will go after any on the list (except Ovie).
I think that he wants players right now to come in who can play next year.

Yep. If he went after any xfers I would think it would be the 2 Auburn xfers anyway.

I wasn't saying to load up on transfers, but if there were some 3 and 4 star guys who fit our needs that he thought could help us out(that were no old than sophomores), I'd be all for it. We all know what our needs are for next year, but how many 6'10" high school guys are still out there that would be able to contribute for us next year? I think we have a chance to be really good in 2 years, but we need some guys down low with some experience if that's going to happen.

Most here was saying Mike Davis couldn't recruit because he took to many chances and to many transfers, now its okay huh, don't get it.
No tansfers unless they are eligible to play right now and have more then 2 years to play.

RE: Forwards Alandise Harris, Kirk Van Slyke to leave Houston program
My thinking is I'd rather have a guy with 2 years of eligibility remaining start for us for 2 years rather than getting the next Hamga who will rot on the bench for years. If we can get freshmen worth something, I say please get them before any transfer. We are late in the recruiting game though, and a couple of transfers may be our best bet to win in 2 years while adding new recruits along the way. Right now we have an inexperienced Herb Harrison, and ASW as forwards. If that's what we have in December, I can tell you how our season is going to go. I didn't mind some of the transfers Davis brought in, I just didn't like the 5th year plugs he seemed to get year after year. Those guys were not solutions to help us in the long run. My thinking is if Haase had recruited any of these guys out of high school and thought they would help immediately after sitting out a year, I wouldn't care if he added them to help re-establish our program. If he has some aces up his sleeve right now coming out of high school, I'd much rather get those players though.

I would be surprised if we got him at this point. He wanted to go with TJ Cleveland. Would not be shocked if he transfered to Arkansas.
