Will Petrino’s winning record and program momentum be enough to earn him preferential treatment from the public? Or has the disingenuous drifter finally fibbed his way into a mess he can’t get out of?

I think they do all this on purpose just to stay in the news. After all, bad publicity is better than no publicity. (all said tongue in cheek)

Does the soap opera on the hill never cease?

From CBS:

You want to know how bad this is? Right now, in comparison, John Calipari looks like a saint.

Well if that's true, and the Petrino deal makes Calipari look like a saint, then Petrino must look like the devil.

I go back and forth on this. If Jeff Long is a decent, honorable man he would make the right call, On the other hand, if he does he is likely costing his athletic deparment millions of dollars, pissing off more than half his fan base, and probably putting his own job in jeopardy. The question to me is, will he be able to look at himself in the mirrow the morning after he slaps some type of meaningless financial fine on Petrino ( I don't know- does loss of a couple of million dollars really hurt someone who is making almost 4 million a year?)

Do you want Petrino fired to cost UANWA wins? Or do you want him retained to make them look bad? Please do not tell me you don't care one way or another?

Not going to let me off easy, huh? Initially I thought it would look worse if they keep him and hurt them more in the long run. Now I believe if they keep him, they'll likely keep winning, and most will forget his transgressions before long. Probably have to vote for having him fired. However, the big danger of keeping him for them is what happens if he messes up again.

I'm sure Jeff Long is talking with lawyers and considering the University's legal position, as well as the ramifications of what will happen to the football program should he terminate Petrino's contract. My guess is that he'll stay on as coach. I believe he should be fired, but I don't have to feed the monster up there at Fayetteville. Money talks and BS walks.
