I was thinking the same thing. Why is there even a discussion of non-football playing members joining the BE?
If the BE adds a few more basketball teams, and they keep including all basketball teams in the conference tournament, they might have to start the conference tournament in February.

RE: If BE adds another non-football school, then who?
If the Big East loses Louisville after 2015, UMass should be ready to step in, as conference geography would line up as close to perfect as possible.
NATURAL BIG EAST TRAVEL PAIRINGS
UMass \ UConn
Providence \ St. John's
Seton Hall \ Rutgers
Villanova \ Temple
Georgetown \ Memphis
Cincinnati \ Notre Dame
DePaul \ Marquette
USF \ UCF
Houston \ SMU
Football-Only: San Diego State \ Fresno State or Air Force \ Boise State \ Navy
Picking up a non-football school and then grabbing a fifth football-only member would be a ridiculously unnecessary complication. Stop overthinking.
