Saturdays, scrimmage
I was at the scrimmage last Saturday, but have been having trouble getting logged into the site, so there was no report to be made. Alas, my sign in problems seem to be solved.

I saw some good things at the scrimmage on Saturday. I did not see any receiver that will replace Jordan White on the field, but at this stage of the game, will we find someone that is as reliable as he was. The large pass play to Shafer was assisted by a great downfield block by Monette.

There were two outstanding one handed catches by the TE's and none of them were to Whitefield. Flen did have a nice come back catch on a scramble from the pocket, he made himself available in the open field. Flen also flubbed one catch when he let it get into his body, and did not catch it with his hands. Tyler's father told this fan, that Whitfield has some great athleticism. Flen did get a lot of plays on the two tight end set on the goal line situations.

The running backs had a good game, and I sense that the offensive line will have better play this year. The word is the players are learning a lot of things under A J's tuteledge.

The defense looked extremely good on several occassions. They laid some terrifis hits in their tackling. I noticed less "arm" tackles in the scrimmage. There was one interception, and three "near misses".

I felt real good about what I saw, but we were playing against ourselves. There was good energy by the team. I did not witness and BC melt downs. There was coaching going on throughout the scrimmage, and hopefully everyone is learning.

Go Broncos.

Proud to be a Bronco.
