You've forgotten a lot about basketball, I'm sure. Your assumptions about me are as informed and perceptive as your basketball knowledge. You made this personal; that's exactly what people do when they can't argue their way out of a paper bag. Well done.

I'm glad you still play basketball...No wait, who gives a shite?
You posted that I suck and then you insult me and I made this personal? What is wrong with you?

Your original post to me was extremely confrontational. Surely you're old enough to be aware of what you're doing?

You mean the one where you said I was, "dead wrong on this?" Even though I supported my OPINION with my personal observations and facts, i.e. that someone HAD a 28-5 record and was National Coach of the Year in 2008?

You do know that it is impossible to be "dead wrong" on an opinion right? because opinions are neither right nor wrong. It's okay to disagree with an opinion without being a total tool.

In his first season at Providence, Davis led the team to an 18–12 regular season record, which also included a win over #15 Syracuse, a 10–8 Big East Conference record, and a win in the 2009 Big East Men's Basketball Tournament before losing to eventual champion Louisville. The Friars were then defeated in the first round of the 2009 National Invitation Tournament by Miami.

However, in 2009–10, Davis' team posted statistically the worst defensive performance in Big East history en route to a 12–19 finish. The 11-game losing streak to end the season led into a disastrous 2010 spring for Davis, who dismissed his leading scorer from the previous season in Jamine Peterson, had two of his players (James Still and Johnnie Lacy) arrested and dismissed or transferred, lost an assistant coach (Pat Skerry) to another Big East job, and had a top recruit from his 2010 (Joe Young) and 2011 (Naadir Tharpe) classes decommit. Davis later lost a top class of 2012 recruit and Rhode Island native Ricky Ledo, who gave Providence a verbal commitment in December 2010, only to rescind his commitment in January 2011.

In 2010–11, Davis coached Division I's second-leading scorer, forward Marshon Brooks for his senior season. However, the Friars could not improve on their conference record from the previous season, finishing 4–14 and 14th in the conference standings.

Davis was fired by Providence on March 11, 2011, despite five years remaining on his contract. He finished with an 18–36 conference record and 46–50 overall record in three seasons

Yep a sterling performance.
I believe he's the first National Coach of the Year in the MAC.

Yes and I have a bridge in Brooklyn I love to sell you. Bob, I respect your opinion and your reasons for it I just don't agree with you.

Fair enough, only time will tell. I happen to like the guy a lot, so I hope he proves me right.

IMO this topic has been beaten to death and really doesn't involve EMU.

Whistle- So what kind of season are the Tigers going to have this year?

Defense will be mediocre at best, however, unlike football offense and defense aren't largely independent of each other.

Tigers went for the big bats (e.g., Miggy, Prince, Young, etc.) who are liabilities in the field.

Fifth starter (unless Turner 'arrives' during the season) is an issue.

The AL this year will be brutally tough w. NYY, Texas, LAA and Tigers.

Tigers could be like the '12 EMU FB team: Score in bunches, and give up points in (smaller) bunches.

I'm predicting a lot of offense in Detroit and Ypsilanti. Defense: "Not so much..."

Steve, my last comment on this subject is that a lot of people from EMU and WMU want to believe that Keno Davis has the integrity of John Calipari or Jerry Tarkanian because of their utter disdain for CMU. I'm sensing a lot of jealousy of the Chippewas here. I think that is ridiculous. CMU is in a MUCH BETTER position then when Ziegler was their coach (in my opinion), and I personally think that is a good thing. I don't hate CMU. Sometimes people let their dislike for things cloud their judgements and they lose objectivity. I just wish people here could talk to people from Des Moines about what they think of Keno Davis. Oh well, we're just going to have to let this play out. There, I am done on this topic.

Bob,

I'm surprised also.

I got to admit I rarely have strong opinions about someone I'd never heard of.

I got to admit I've never had strong opinions about any CMU head coach including football's Brian Kelley.
